I think that could be a better idea.
How long do they take to reply?

No harm in sending them an email but it will hardly yield anything. They have a standard reply in place for application status query. Your best bet is to approach your MP once the average processing time is over... but I am sure you will get your PPR before that. Good luck.

I hope so but the thing making me worry is that all my friends got thier ppr. SOme of them already crossed border.
Some of them applied a month after me.

Hoping for good news soon :)

Great info, thanks for sharing. I am sure you would have browsed all possible options before taking the CIC route, just a thought - do you have the option of leaving the baby at your relative or friends place ? Since the baby is already a Canadian Citizen, need not travel with you but I can also understand that the baby is too small to be left as of now.
Good luck!

Thanks for you suggestion, my friend. Actually I do have this option. I brought my mother in to live with us with a single-entry vistor VISA in June before our baby was born to help take care the baby and my wife.

The only problem is my wife, the new mom, doesn't want to leave our baby for more than 2 hours. (We try not to feed our baby with formula milk and she keeps breast-feeding our little one.)

I have a deal with my wife, if we don't get a call from local CIC by Friday, then we will go across the border on Saturday Nov 23, 2013. (leaving out kid with his grandmother for about 10 hours feeding him with formula milk).

Let's see what's the story ends up with. :)

Yeah I am, checked the CIC citizenship tool and it says I can apply on 4 May 2016. Will be quite near to when you do.. hope we take the Oath together.

Mine will be early December 2015 if I land on Nov 23, 2013, but depends how long I am gonna to be away from Canada in the next two years.

I am gonna to study more about the Residency Questionnaire for the citizenship application (Especially leaving the nominated province VS PRship renewal/citizenship).

You will never now what will happen in the next few years, right?

I can totally understand the new mom's point of view but will still hope that luck favours you in this negotiation :D 2 days to go!

just a suggestion, my friends did the same. you don't have to travel continuously 10 hours back and forth. instead you could expand the trip. For example say if you are in calgary, you could leave calgary friday evening and drive for 2 hours and stay at lethbridge and get on to the border next day or so . i am sure that there will be a big city for every 3 hours or so. just a thought.

We thought about this, but we don't want to travel with our little one for more than 2 hours in the vehicle because he is still too small and he will cry really hard.

Honestly nothing worth watching in southern Saskatchewan, and it is winter time now, snow everywhere.

My wife, the new mother just wants to get back to our son as soon as possible.

Thank your for you suggestion though.

Once you have kids, your thinking logic will be totally changed.

I was requested "proof of financial support from your Canadian relative" at a federal stage of my MPNP Family Stream.

I have my relative's bank statement showing that he has aroung $15 000 and his job reference letter.

As I said, the above documents was requested from my relative not me, however, I am thinking whether to send them my own bank statement also ( I have about $ 14 000) so they will see that I also have enough settlement funds.

or it is better not to send any documents that is not requested?

Landed on Nov 23, 2013 at North Portal, SK.

Not too much to share about landing and I don't feel excited till now.

Maybe I don't feel the differeces between PR and a work permit holder yet

Started thinking about the true meaning of being Canadian and the life that I am looking for ...
