Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

My parents did medical in march , now today ECAS status added medical received... mycic status changed to medical passed.. BC in process.. file is in Ottawa..

Hi dadaum,

while thinking positive and on the basis of all the three year spread sheets, I am of the view that at the year end 2017 CIC will have pending applications like this:-
• 2014-1000,2015-1400,2016-1800 applications plus 10000 of 2017 new applications that comes to 21500 (1.5 per application) persons/applicants in back log or in other words you may say backlog at the start of 2018 plus 2018 applications.
• One more assumption is that about 1500 applications through out, with all visa offices are pending prior to 4th Nov 2011 those are processing very slow as the authorities are getting the information from their own source whether the sponsorer are able to maintain their parents/grand parents or not, as no lico was required at that time.

I am very much thankful to you for detailed analysis of pending applications.My case is pending as my Panel Physician Appolo Hospital,Ahmedabad found TB in my case and last test an XRay on May 18 will clear my case.Local super specialist says I have nothing but this is a case of Clerical Attitude and no rational thinking by the Panel Physicians. I had to undergo costly tests which exprts says will prove you do not have TB. But I do not know how long this will linger my PR.

I am reading silently along in this threat. It has been very helpful to me. Now we have reached a point in my parents application process were I cant find an answer to questions I have and CIC Ottawa is no help at all. So I am hoping someone in here can shed some light on it.

As you may guess we have submitted a application for my parents in 01/2016. We have received the request for Medical, PCC and RPRF in November 2016 and submitted everything in December 2016. Nothing happened since then. Is somebody else waiting for the BC to get started?

My other questions are:

1. The section were all fees get listed it still shows $0.00 but we have paid the requested amount. Is this normal? I hope they received the fonds.
2. The Police certificate is going to be 6 month old in May. Will CIC request a more current one? I am not sure for how long the certificates are good for. I thought they are only good for 6 month.
3. Do you guys think they have to make a decision before the medical expires? I am assuming the exam is good for 1year?
4. Once you received the visa how long do you have time to get here?

I am just very confused and frustrated by the whole process... and if I email CIC Ottawa I only get standard answers. Nobody is responding to my questions directly.

Below are responses to the 1st 3 qts...

1) Mine too has no update on the fees, even though it has been paid a few months ago. So guess it is normal.
2&3) If I recall correctly, you are right about PCC's being good for 6mths and medicals for 1 yr. Not sure what happens after expiry (i.e. if they ask for new certs).

You are not alone in this boat/ship there is long queue all waiting for further information from CIC. As you go through the spread sheets provided by ‘Rossie” for the application of 2014,15 & 16 you feel that there is no progress at all after Oct 2016 (when the Govt busy with Syrian refugee,), except few cases on 8&9 Feb and 8&9 March 2017 and then again pin drop silence. Don’t worry, be patient. Even there are so many, who’s medical and pcc validity already expired. It is the sole discretion of the Officer, he may extend the validity while requesting PPR as seen in some cases OR demand a fresh one.

My parents' file in CPC-Ottawa. The background check has been "In Process" since Nov. 24, 2016. More than 5 months! Anybody in the same boat? My parents are from Iran.

My parents file is in Ankara and they are from Iran too. They were asked for medical and pcc in December 2016. All done and submitted in first week of Jan. They passed medical.... but from then, no news yet

It is really frustrating that they demand the certificates and then don't process the application in time. To get a new certificate I have to pay $200+. I don't think it is very fair. Cic expects us to be in time too.

I am sorry I know they can ask what ever they want and I have to comply, but I am fuming!

question of spending dollars is no meaning for them they have to go their way only. I had incurred 250/- dollars plus HST for the courrier on 4th jan 2016, besides the Medical and 2 times PCC from India.

Anyone from London Visa office whose background check has started or received PPR recently?

My parents case was processed in London Visa office. Medicals and PCC were completed in December 2016. Passport was requested via an email on April 6. Sent passport on April 19 to Canadian Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. They said two to three weeks for return of passport.

It seems like 3-4 months for request of passport from LVO after medicals.

Got the SA approval mail with the pdf letter and advise that your case has been transferred to CPC-O on Feb 10th, ecas status changed to "in-process" for few days, then changed back to "Application recd." on Feb 25th, nothing changed after that.

Please advise, if that is normal or are they having second thought about my case,

I have selected to submit parents application.i sponsored my wife and she landed a year ago. Marriage did not last long and separated 3 mos ago. Had a partial custody with the child that was born here. Wife now is in shelter and "receiving" social assistance.but I haven't received any official information or notice or due bill from Canadian government to repay , I just came to know that she is in shelter that trough during our court hearing. Now My question is, does this affect the sponsorship for the parents? My status is now legally separated based on the custody paper. What are the possible problem in the future now that on sponsoring my parents considering i signed the undertaking for the spouse before.

Your undertaking of all costs of 20 years for your wife still stands. Just because you separated doesnt mean you are no longer liable.
So you 3 people to support on your parents application.

I suggest you talk to a lawyer. No one here is an expert on special cases such as yours. Almost everyone is a cookie cutter regular applicant.
