My parents' file in CPC-Ottawa. The background check has been "In Process" since Nov. 24, 2016. More than 5 months! Anybody in the same boat? My parents are from Iran.

Today, my mother received her passport from Ottawa with the PR visa and CoPR.

Well not exactly in the same boat but My parents did their background check and Medical in February. File is in CPC-Ottawa and haven't heard anything yet.

i am in the same boat... only they requested my father military history on november 25th, and ever since the background has been in process

i noticed that cpc-ottawa has been quite lately, but when i look at the stats of cic, it shows that they issued more than 2000 pgp visa in march with a total of almost 4750 for the first quarter

Landing just done tonight at St-Bernard-de-Lacolle US/Quebec border. Very fast, max 15 minutes. Empty, we were alone.

I have a quick question. The latter which I received from CIC, it mentioned that my file has been forwaded to Ottawa office but the request for medical and other document was received from London visa office. so want to clarify whether my file is in Ottawa or london

think positive, and I am of the view that all applications from 2016 who got medical and PR-in-Process upto march 2017 will be getting PR near the end of year 2016 and application those are getting their sponsorship approved in 2017 will go to see the year 2018.

Hi dadaum,

while thinking positive and on the basis of all the three year spread sheets, I am of the view that at the year end 2017 CIC will have pending applications like this:-
• 2014-1000,2015-1400,2016-1800 applications plus 10000 of 2017 new applications that comes to 21500 (1.5 per application) persons/applicants in back log or in other words you may say backlog at the start of 2018 plus 2018 applications.
• One more assumption is that about 1500 applications through out, with all visa offices are pending prior to 4th Nov 2011 those are processing very slow as the authorities are getting the information from their own source whether the sponsorer are able to maintain their parents/grand parents or not, as no lico was required at that time.

Yes, practically the same timing here. Meds sent in late august and early September, and "Background check in process" since. Seems like Ottawa got busy with something else - the new batch or maybe finishing up with the older backlog?
