Hello Everyone,

If someone could please answer the following questions for me:

I am sponsoring my parents and my wife is co-signing the application:

1. In the Fee Payment section, would it be sponsor 75 x 2 = $150 or just $75 (I am asking question as my wife is co-signing the application)

2. My wife was on maternity leave, so the address would be of my home or service Canada?

3. Does my wife's EI payment needs to be mentioned in section 19 (b) to (g)?

4. As this is the first time I am sponsoring my parents and I haven't sponsored anyone for immigration yet so does my parent's name need to be included in any part of the financial evaluation form. I have mentioned my name, my wife's name and my one dependents name in it though right now.

5. Out family size is "5" The minimum necessary income in Section 8 would be total of $64,791+$63,833+$62,023= $190,647 or what?

6. Some of the supporting documents are both in English and my native language, does it still need to be translated?

7. Do we just need to send the photocopies of the supporting documents without attestation/notarization? If NOT, why the instruction manual states:

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.

I suppose, it's for the documents not in english, correct?

8. For employment history, please suggest what should i use between A & B:

A
FROM TO EMPLOYER NAME ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER GROSS INCOME FAMILY SIZE
2015-01-01 PRESENT x xxx XXX 2015 INCOME TILL DATE X
2014-01-01 2014-12-31 x xxx XXX 2014 INCOME X
2013-01-01 2013-12-31 x xxx XXX 2013 INCOME X
2012-01-01 2012-12-31 x xxx XXX 2012 INCOME X

B.
FROM TO EMPLOYER NAME ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER GROSS INCOME FAMILY SIZE
2014-01-01 PRESENT x xxx XXX 2014 INCOME X
2013-01-01 2013-12-31 x xxx XXX 2013 INCOME X
2012-01-01 2012-12-31 x xxx XXX 2012 INCOME X

As I have continuous employment since 2012, what should I choose between C & D:

C
FROM TO EMPLOYER NAME ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER GROSS INCOME FAMILY SIZE
2012-01-01 PRESENT x XXX XXX TOTAL OF 2012 TO 2014 INCOME X

D
FROM TO EMPLOYER NAME ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER GROSS INCOME FAMILY SIZE
2014-01-01 PRESENT SAME EMPLOYER xxx XXX 2014 INCOME X
2013-01-01 2013-12-31 SAME EMPLOYER xxx XXX 2013 INCOME X
2012-01-01 2012-12-31 SAME EMPLOYER xxx XXX 2012 INCOME X
Can someone please help?

Thank you.

For Q3, Option C, it states "Social Assistance from a province". As my wife was on maternity/paternity leave, it was EI benefits those were paid, why it should be "Social Assistance"?

If i check option E, it states "Amounts paid to you under the Employment Insurance Act, other than special benefits, i still don't need to mention her maternity/paternity benefits there because it falls under special benefits.

About Q5, there is just one box to enter the values, our family size is 5, so what should we enter there in Option 8 of the form?

I do not have EI so my responses are an educated guess. If they fall under special benefits then you should not need to to add it. Besides if you include Option C then they will have the info they need either ways.

Q5 is for your spouse. So you put 1 there. If you have kids, then they go in Q6. So put 3 if you 3 kids. If you are sponsoring one or both your parents, then put 1/2 in Q3A.
Family size calculation is current family + no of people you are sponsoring.

Q7 is automatically filled when you enter these values.

Q8 value is based on Q7. you can go to the link I gave you to find the number to put there.

Sorry about all the confusion, I wrote the questions in such a manner that it was interpreted by you in a different manner. I was referring to Q5 as asked in this forum as per my initial post. I was not referring to the question 5 of the financial evaluation form.

So, my question is: Our family size is 5. What needs to be entered in SECTION 8 of the Financial evaluation form?

Hello there,
My daughter is planning on sponsoring me. We've got all the supporting documents per the document checklist (IMM5771). However, I've noticed on the Generic Application Form (IMM0008) they state that you shouldn't forget to include photos, fees (if applicable) and other docs required by the visa office. My LVO is in Pretoria, RSA and in their checklist they are requesting photos and police clearance certificates as well as identity and civil status docs etc. I'm confused as I'm getting conflicting advise - I would appreciate your thoughts on this. Do I need to include the photos, police clearance etc with the sponsorship & PR application or not
Many thanks

For question 8 of the Financial Evaluation for Parents and Grandparents sponsorship (IMM 5768)

Do we use the Minimum income for 2014 only or do we add all minimum incomes for 2012+2013+2014?

For example for a family of 5 do I write

A - $64,791
or
B- $64,791 + $63,833 + $62,023 = $190,647

Thank you,

Lav

$64,791. I will let experts from last year confirm.

My reasoning...on CIC page, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256ETOC.asp#incometables
they only list the latest year and expect you to have 30% above the numbers there.

So the above number is compared with what you enter in the boxes for 2014, 2013 and 2012 to ensure you have more than minimum required in each of the three preceding years. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Way back, PGP used to be processed in 2 separate stages (it still does in minor context). The sponsor first needed to send his/her sponsorship application and upon approval, the parents needed to submit PR application to the LVO. Now, the sponsor sends everything together to CPC-M. Although after sponsorship approval, it will be transferred to either Ottawa or LVO for PR processing. You may need to provide additional docs if required at that stage.

In conclusion, you don't have to think about those now. Just follow the checklist CIC has for PGP.

What kind of notarized document was it? It depends. If it is for a translated document to English/French, I think it should be fine. However if it for a statement / declaration, you may need a new notarized document.
