Hello guys,

We just sent our PR application via post mail here in singapore. Do you have any idea how long it will take to receive a feedback or outcome from CIC?

Thank you all

Hello po, did any of you paid the fee online using a credit card under a name different from that of the applicant?

I have read varied responses on what info to write in the receipt sent via email from CIC. The receipt already has the name of the payer/card holder, and there is a space for DOB and client ID. Ano po nilagay nyo? I am confused if it should be that of the payer or the applicant.

1. Submitted MPNP application: December 2011
2. Received letter with MPNP application number September 2012 (i moved here in manila from my province. when i applied, my application forms bears my provincial address. since the letter was not receive after dozen times of attempted delivery, the letter got back to Manitoba. In the letter, I have to submit additional documents like IELTS result amongst others. came March 2014 i sent and email to MPNP support and after a month of waiting they replied that they will give me an extension and provide them with my new address.) so I got the MPNP letter April 2014.
3. Submitted to CIO July 2014.
4. Received Medical request September 2014
5. Submitted Medical October 1 2014
6. Received PPR October 14, 2014.
7. Submit passport through courier October 20, 2014

Hi,

Follow what marlon919 did - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/timeline-for-filipinos-submitted-pnppr-applctions-at-cio-t93206.375.html

- include a cover letter stating for which application is the receipt for

The expectation is the payer is also the applicant - this is why the only fields in there relevant to the applicant (if he/she is not the payer) are the DOB and Client ID. If this is your first application to CIC, then you will not have a CID, thus in this case - all the fields in the receipt become non-relevant to the applicant.

If this is for RPRF, then you have a CID but the payer name does not reflect the applicant/name on the application. Then in that case, the safest way is to link the receipt to your application by including a cover letter, and in the cover letter specify the receipt of payment is for your application, and in the cover letter include your name (as Principal Applicant) and CID. Attach the receipt to the cover letter.

By this you should not have to worry about filling up those sections in the receipt.

Hi guys,

eCAS is not that updated as to the status of my application. So instead of frequently checking on it, I spend most time praying.

Hi,

Refer to the CEM link below on which seminars are compulsory and those that are voluntary.
http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/pre_departure-pre_depart.aspx?lang=eng

Compulsory seminars are explicitly stated - read more in that link. Excerpts from that link are shown here:
CFO Seminars
Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS)
Participants: compulsory for all Filipino immigrants older than 12 years old leaving the country to settle permanently abroad. Children of immigrants, with ages 13 to 19, are required to attend a Peer Counseling Program to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

Peer Counseling Program
Participants: compulsory for children of immigrants, with ages 13 to 19
Length: one day
Where: CFO's offices in Manila and Cebu.
Cost: for the latest registration fee visit CFO web site
Program: to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

Guidance and counseling program
Participants: compulsory for Filipino spouses and other partners of foreign nationals
Length: one day
Where: CFO's offices in Manila and Cebu.
Cost: for the latest registration fee visit CFO web site
Program: to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

Attendance of the pre-departure orientation seminar is normally the last step in the registration process with CFO. After which, a registration sticker is affixed to the immigrant's passport. Without the sticker, an immigrant would not be allowed to leave the country.

IOM Seminars – Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA)
Participants: voluntary for all Filipinos leaving the country as temporary workers under the Live-in Caregiver Program or in any permanent resident category
Length: one full day
Where: IOM office on the 24th Floor of the Citibank Tower Bldg. at 8741 Paseo de Roxas, Makati City
Cost: free-of-charge

Program: In the seminars, participants learn about the nature of the Canadian society, common problems of adaptation faced by newcomers, the rights and obligations of temporary workers and immigrants, the Canadian health and educational systems, how to find a job, how to look for a place to live in, the cost of living, and facts about the city in which you will be living in.

While attendance in these seminars is not mandatory, there are a lot of benefits that can be obtained in attending it. It will give you a lot of information on skills necessary for a successful adaptation in Canada; reliable information on issues and concerns regarding Canadian labor laws, contract expiry/extension, permanent resident status, sponsorship; and practical tips about life in Canada.

Program sponsored by Citizenship and Immigration Canada - This is why this is recommended

ACCC seminars - Canadian Immigration Integration Project (CIIP)
Participants: voluntary for all adult immigrants selected in the Skilled Worker or Provincial Nominee category
Length: one full day seminar and half day individual counseling
Where: CIIP, 7th floor. Port Royal Place, 118 Rada Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City.
Cost: free-of-charge

Program: The CIIP is intended to guide newcomers through the integration process while still in the country of origin and then following arrival in Canada. The seminar will provide a general overview of trends in the Canadian economy, as well as a focus on labour market prospects in the province of destination. CIIP staff also provides a case study of two or more occupations to demonstrate licensing and entrance requirements for both regulated and non-regulated fields of employment. Presentations on opportunities are balanced by an examination of labour market and settlement challenges, and options for addressing these challenges are discussed. The day concludes with a session on job-searching in the Canadian environment.

Participants are invited to return the following day for one-on-one counselling interviews at which they can develop an Individual Integration Plan (IIP).

Program sponsored by Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC)
--> This is why this is recommended

As to CFO reservations - there is no online appointment/reservation. There is online pre-registration to save you the time of registering/filing up the forms on the day of your PDOS seminar. More here:
