Recently the Canadian consulate in Taiwan has closed its visa section since Taiwanese dont need a visa to visit Canada. Now all the Premanent residency visas go through the Hong Kong office. I have been living in Taiwan for 6 years and got married about 6 months ago. I have no worries about anyone thinking our marriage is not legit, we had a huge wedding, records showing we worked in the same office 5 years ago ect. What worries me is the timeline in H kong says 19 months if I apply for her when i go back to Canada. I dont see how this can be when i read about other couples that went through Hong Kong and were reunited within months. Do they lump some mainland Chinese with the HK office? Will HK Chinese and Taiwanese be treated faster because they dont require visas? Any one with any experinces since the Taipei office switched to HK? Im loosing sleep over this, id appreciate any replies.

You have no choice VO without goin abroad(at least China cause Beijing is quite short for processing time).Because someone under FAM application who might be premanent residence in current country.Don't worry too much for Hong kong processing time(19 months) ,if you could summitted perfect evidence,it will be quick.
Only my advise is you may apply through HK 's VO and make sure all documents of evidences(even you're ligitimate couple ,still need to proof e-mail,skype phone bill ,relationship proof of before you marriage, marriage certificate, photos, some recommand letters of people who attendance wedding.....etc ).
And also landing fee and ....(total 1040 CAD) ,you can pay as fast as you can when you waiting sponsor approval.
Try to provide perfect and strong evidences, your case will goes unbelivable fast.
Good luck!(you can see june spread sheet, some place were so quick although CIC say long processing time)
