My husband withdrew his refugee claim and now wants to get his international passport back from immigration. Please can anyone advise on the process to do this and how long does it take?
Since he withdrew his claim it won't get it back until he is boarding the plane to leave Canada. They will contact you or he needs to contact them and then they will book the flight for his departure. He won't get it until he is on the plane.

Have been waiting for so long and no news whatsoever. It's as if they are not working anymore. Here's my timeline. No correspondence since October 2019. They haven't even updated my account after submitting my PC.
  1. We received your application for permanent residence on March 22, 2019.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on June 15, 2019.
  3. We started processing your application on June 14, 2019.
  4. Medical results have been received.
  5. We sent you correspondence on October 8, 2019. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
I also order the GCMS notes and they still haven't started eligibility or security. The only thing that is being processed now is criminality. What makes matters worse is that all steps have a due date of June 2020. I know a lot of you will say it is a matter of luck and it's normal but I am just venting and sharing my frustration.
Processing time is currently 24 months so basically you will get a decision after that hopefully b4 unless you are on some fast track!!!! for example i did not year from them for a very long time 13 months to be exact and when i finally did it was my COPR lol IRCC is crazy.. GOOD LUCK.

Hello Everybody. I hope you guys are good

I got my notice of the decision in feb-2020 I sent my PR package in march just before the pandemic starts.
I have not received the AOR yet. I will move in the next month and I don't have any idea how can I change my address.
When I trying to change it they are asking me to provide the Application number and how I have not received the AOR I don't have it.

Somebody here sent the PR in 2020 Thanks!
That is very strange!!! are you sure you sent the doc's the correct address because its almost 1 year and not AoR wow.. did you use courier service were you are able to see the tracking information.

if yes and it says delivered to the correct address then you have to wait until IRCC Opens the application package and then they will send an AoR

This is the only thing i could find on that

Good Luck.

Congratulations!! the same happened to me and I got the CoPR document the next day via email. Wait until you receive the email with your CoPR document and print out a copy of it and mail it along with 1 photo. The specifications of the photo and the address will be included in the document.
Does this slow the process of getting PR card, I saw people saying portal invitation is more faster but I'm yet to see anyone who has received it recently.

no one knows. alot of people are wating on their cards still even some from summer last year.. so with or without the portal people are still waiting a long time on their cards. hopefully, some of us are lucky to get it within a month. or 2 weeks like some of the lucky people

Honestly, Idk and I couldn’t care less :$ We already are permanent residents and our days are counting towards the citizenship and that’s all that matters to me. CoPR is sufficient for now I guess... and functions the same as the PR card except for the validity of the RTD as far as I know.

I would recommend you to reach out to your MP's office, ask them to inquire about your PR application on your behalf.
And, at the same time, send webform inquiries. Show concern, ask questions, no need to keep quiet and wait for them.

Good luck!

All most the same, I'm Apr 18, 2019 called the helpdesk before more than 2 weeks, they mentioned everything passed Eligibility, Criminality, and Security. Till today I did not receive any updates from IRCC (The last update asking for a medical test on Jul 27, 2020, even Eligibility passed email did not receive), helpdesk said do not wary, everything is looking OK,
The website showing status "In Process"

they will probably extend it. my medical was expired in 2018. I wasn't asked for a new one and I applied the same time as you. if they need one they will ask.
