It's a straightforward case --- it's just a slllllllllooooooooooooooooow embassy. If only I became enamoured with an American or a Brit.... Nope, I chose a man from a disorganized Latin country. 
Yes, I would agree with bonbon.. Do all the legalization stuff now! I've been the busy bee, registering a marriage, a birth, doing translations in order to do so... And the last 3 months since I started this process has passed quickly. Though I am slowly running out of things to do! I've discovered that the benefit of getting different responses from different people who are working doing birth/marriage registrations: You waste your time and energy focused on the confusion and talking on the phone trying to clarify things, that you forget about the sponsorship process.
Or maybe get pregnant?? It'll help distract you from the process... hardy har har
For those who are waiting for an AOR, maybe send the VO an email regarding this? You should have received it by then, I'd think. I'm not entirely sure if my husband was sent the AOR because we applied for a visitor's visa or because I sent them an email about not hearing anything from them. They responded to the email a few days later saying that they had already sent (by post) the AOR a few days earlier. Though why would they send it in the mail? We provided an email address....

Everyone: Don't grow impatient!! Try to look into other things like updating your married name, updating married status on CRA, legalizing documents like professional titles, etc etc.. Think that if you do it now, besides keeping you busy and making time go faster, it will save you time later on as once you/your spouse lands and starts settling in the country, spending time with relatives, and most importantly with each other, you won't have time for any of this!!
I'm crossing my fingers all the time so you all hear from your VO's soon!!
