loll its been going around my head for awhile.. i guess thats what we will have to do! ;) its good to share like that cause it makes us think about things we didnt think about! :P

god yeah, like it was not enough like that... ahhah

News from the embassy..! Well, they just answered my email 2 days ago saying that they'll send his passport by the end of this week, so he has to go and pick it up next tuesday at the consulate in Managua... By may 20 we might have the final answer than... 6 days left! iiiiiiiiiiii!

Just so you know, I send them an email wondering why we didn't had any answer since april 26 (they day we had the decision made), and, in the subject of the email, I wrote; URGENT: PERMANENT RESIDENCY, WHERE IS THE PASSPORT?

And they answered me within 3 or 4 days.. which is really quick. I read on the internet that if you write Urgent in the topic it's faster... I don't know, maybe you should give it a try ahah

I'll stay in touch to tell you what's going on next week...

Thats awesome news! My hubby picks his up on Monday or Tuesday as well! I can't wait!

hi karine,
thats good news but can you please tell me when you guys submit your passports? I submit my passports December 2010 and when I sent email to inquiry they send me this is that normal??

Your file has been placed in a queue awaiting assessment by an Immigration Officer. We do not require any additional information from you at this time. We will contact you soon to let you know what the next stage of processing will be.

Please share your experience
Thanks.

We sent our prepaid FedEx envelope last week, was received by them on Thursday. How long will it take to have them send my husband's passport back to us in the US?

This makes me nervous since we need to land by June 25th.

A COUPLE QUESTIONS???
1. WHEN you guys sent your passports was it just the passeports that were requested or additional info as well?
2. did you communicate at all with them inbetween the time that you sent the passeports and the time you recieved them (or decision was made)
3. Were your partners previously deported from canada or any other country (if you dont mind me asking)

My hubby was deported from canada april 03 2008
his passport was requested march 20 2011 recieved in GUATE march 25 2011
The have just sent me this email that his filed is in queue waiting to be reviewed by an IO and that if they require any additional info they will contact me (may. 05. 2011)
4. what should i do next and when should i expect him here in canada???

Hi!

Belize: I told you our story about 4 times, please read the older posts.

Ruby:
1) We sent his passport and they were asking for other stuff too, it was in feb of 2010 (they had our papers since a month at the embassy, and we still waited 14 more months after to have an answer, have to re-do meds and re-do passport, + some more stuff)
2) Yes, I sent them several emails to be like: hey, what the hell are you doing? (but very polite) But barely had an answer
3) Husband never-ever came to Canada, so no deportation
4) Should do next: Wait.... there's not much else to do.. You can send an email once a month... but I heard once that if you send to many emails they get pissed then put your file at the end of the queue... don't know if it's true or not... and about your husband, wellllllll you never know. Some gets answer within 4 months, others within 2 years... you have to wait at least the 18 months to ask them for some reason not to answer... we are all in the same boat, nobody knows... sorry! And good luck!!

so our time lines are totally different.
My MP emailed them in january witch would have been 18 months after processing began. They said "at this time we are satisfied with our relationship as a genuine relationship."
so frusterating!!!

It depends on the courier. As soon as they receieve it they'll send it. We did that when my hubby had to have his meds re-done and they sent it within the week. You'll definitly have it by June

1. When they asked for my hubbys passport last year (Jan 2010) they asked for his RCMP criminal record check and his passport. It took a year to get his criminal record check, by then his meds expired, so they sent him his passport back and he sent his passport back to guatemala in April. We now have decision made and pick up his papers on Monday!
2. I had my MP conact them a couple times regarding the criminal record check and the medicals, after the medicals were redone and the passport was sent back no we didnt contact them.
3. My husband wasn't "deported" he was "departed" either way they can't deny you because of it.
4. I would wait until June and then have your MP contact them. Our MP was awesome and helped us soo much!
