in most cases they will send application back to sender, wait for atleast one week, i m sure you will get it back in that time.

@ matti: how was she able to travel from sweden to london while her Passport was in CHC-L? , not being sarcastic but amused :o

European citizens can travel within member states by presenting national ID right?
She's a British citizen btw.

Application delivered successfully at CIC this morning, the real waiting game begins!

Hey guys - I know this has likely been asked before but am crazy busy and can't troll through 98 pages...... ???

We've got our PPR (yay!) and need to get my fellahs passport sent off to the UK....anybody know how long it usually takes to get the passport back as we have gone and booked a holiday. Didn't expect to get our PPR in 2 months.

Problem is that we don't want to send the passport off if there is ANY chance we might not get it back.

Anybody?

Thanks, dishy :D

2 weeks if you drop it in, in person (Thursdays only)

4 - 6 weeks if you mail it. Recently there are a lot of people on here saying it has taken a very long time to get their passport back - maybe even over 6 weeks.

Can you go on holiday and then send the passport? You should have a date listed that you need to send your passport in by.

Congrats on the PPR, hopefully I won't be far behind.

I am in Canada, I got my passport back in just under 6 weeks, someone else in canada got it back in just under 7 weeks. Its seems to take between 4-6 weeks to have it returned.
The best way if you are able, is to take it directly to london and pick it up 2 weeks later. If only for piece of mind!
From the passport request, you have 45 days to submit the passport.
Congrats by the way!

Congratulations on the PPR, if I were you I would give 8 weeks, but best bet if possible is to drop off and pick up.

Thanks, dishy :D

Ooo honeymoon, hope you had a wonderful time!

Naz you can extend your visitor status online and pay online if you need to. You're supposed to do it 30days before the date you have to leave though. I did mine online just before easter, it was pretty straight forward. It's 75$. I asked for a 6month extension. Now I just gotta wait for an e-mail to see if it gets granted or not.

H Kelly

When u extend ur visit visa from Canada did u give them them bank statement from Canada or from Uk?

Naz,

I gave them statements from both. They ask you about total funds you have access to, to support yourself. If you have both and have space (there is a size limit to the files you upload) I would give them both :)
If not, just give them what you have. There is plenty of space in the questions to explain about funds.
