We're still waiting for my husband's passport to come back, it was received in London on February 14th (we're impatient lol!). My husband's here in Canada at the moment so we've asked them to send it back here. Just wondering how they send it back. Is it by courier or regular post (god forbid)?

I think it would be better if someone could post you from UK..

Many people get the passport delivered to a friend or family member in the UK, who then send the passport to Canada using a courier service.

Well the passport is already gone so we can't have it sent back to Ireland and then his family sends it on. We were just curious how it gets delivered back to Canada, hoping by courier or registered mail. Something traceable anyway.

Something I read on here made me think...we were assuming that when the passport comes back my husband would book a trip back home to wind some things up then come in and land. But can he land if we went over to the States and back in to Canada (once his passport and papers are back of course)? Or does he have to land from his home country? If he can land from the States, do we just go over the border and stay a couple of hours and present ourselves to Canada Immigration? Are there any potential problems to doing it this way?

Doing it through the US would allow us to get a better flight deal and also get his SIN and health card started before he goes back to Ireland for a couple of weeks to wrap his affairs up.

He can land via the USA border or at an office in Canada (appointments require about one months advance booking).

At an office in Canada? That's even better!! How do I find out more information about this? Where are the offices (we're in Toronto)? How do we make a booking?

I have not done this personally.

I believe that the number to call to book appointments is 1-888-242-2100

In Canada offices - I'm not sure if you can land at all of them, others may comment.

Toronto is on St. Clair Ave.

I posted my passport from Canada on February 18th and they received it on Monday 21st. I'm really hoping that I will get it back shortly (this week???) and then I am going to land at Niagara. The waiting is really driving me nuts though.

We're playing the same waiting game d-tilley...though a more local version. Sent passport from London to London on Friday the 10th of February, delivered on Monday the 14th. Nothing back yet and it's been more than 3 weeks. Getting impatient...again!

Hi,
If you're in Toronto, it would probably be easier to just go to the Niagara Falls border and then you wouldnt have to wait 1 month for an appointment.
I have sent my passport to London from canada and I'm pretty sure the PPR letter says they will send the passport back using registered mail.
When did you post it? Mine arrived in UK on friday.... waiting....!

What did everyone send as a return envelope for the passport? Self addressed with postage already on?

The instructions from London seem to ask for a really big envelope.

No, the letter said dont put postage on it. I sent one of the padded envelopes with my address on it. I figured since its gonna have my passport in, i wanted something abit more substantial than a normal paper A4 envelope.

I just sent a normal envelope with my name and address on it.... hopefully it will make it back to me in one piece.. I'm just finding it so frustrating, you would think they would at least email you a tracking number when they post it so that you know it is on its way!!! In hindsight I wish i had just flown back to england handed it in and collected it two weeks later. I'm hoping it comes soon though, as I have a grandparent who is really quite ill so I may have to fly back at short notice fairly soon.

I agree it would be nice if they sent you a tracking number.
Its such an important document they're sending!!
I hope it arrives soon. When did they receive it in London?
