I agree it would be nice if they sent you a tracking number.
Its such an important document they're sending!!
I hope it arrives soon. When did they receive it in London?
You are being too logical / sensible / reasonable on this.

We all know the purpose of the process is to load us up with high levels of stress ;D

No, the letter said dont put postage on it. I sent one of the padded envelopes with my address on it. I figured since its gonna have my passport in, i wanted something abit more substantial than a normal paper A4 envelope.
We did the same, self-addressed padded envelope.

Good!
This whole process makes me so nervous, I was even questioning the type of envelope I used!!

Hmmm I've just realized that my husband has one more month here in Canada before he'd have to extend his stay. Has anyone NOT received their passport back in a reasonable amount of time (one month or so?). I have a bad feeling we forgot to take a photocopy of his most recent entry in the passport, although we do have photocopies of all the other pages. Am I starting to panic needlessly? If we apply online to extend his stay do we need to upload images of his passport pages or anything?

When applying for an extension, you do need to attach/upload copies of all "marked pages" of the passport (and the main page).

Download the kit, this is noted on the checklist.

Hi everyone,

I went to Canadian high commission London today for visit visa , as I am intending to visit Canada in Easter holidays.

They treated me really well. When they realized that my fam case is already with them, they advised me to wait so that they can check from immigration section abt the progress n if it's finalized they might give me permanent visa today rather than visit.

The lady on the counter came back to me after 1 hour wait, she said the chief immigration officer is going to have a word with me shortly. After couple of minutes I was called for quick interview. This officer told me that my permanent residence case is under security checks process and will finish in coupe of weeks so he is going to issue me a multiple visit visa. At this point I requested if I could get more than six months, he said he will look that for me. However I am going to collect my passport after two weeks.

I asked WTs gona happen if my ppr comes within that time. He replied then rather than visit visa they will issue me permanent visa.

I am so relaxed today, Atleast I got good pics WTs happening.

Regards

Naz

I just read this on the London CHC website:

How are passports returned once an application has been processed?

Passports are returned by recorded delivery in the self-addressed envelope you included with your application. This means that someone at the recipient's address must sign to acknowledge that they have received the package.

No one is ever home during the day at my house we are all at work. Could I put my work's address on the envelope?
Knowing my luck it would be sent to work on a day i'm off!

If no one is home then i think it'd be left at the local post office depot then you can go and collect it. If you are comfortable having it sent to work then perhaps you could do that.
I don't think I would want that. Are there no other family members homes you could have it sent to, someone you know will be home?

Whenever I order things online I always have it sent to my work address as there's always someone there and i can collect it from the office. Have done this for years with no problems so I trust my passport to be sent there more so than my relatives haha! Will they queston why I haven't used my home address though?

Probably not no.
If you feel comfortable doing this then I don't see any problems. On the form you could state that its your work address as no one is at home.
It should be ok, but someone with more experience or knowledge might be able to offer more?!

The PPR is the easy bit, honest, but I stressed over little details aswell. But I figured, they are not gonna strip away your approval because of the address you want your passport sent to right?

Not unless the address was:

HMP Pentonville
Caledonian Road
London
N7 8TT

Or another of the queens happy homes :)
