This thread is for spousal applications. I suggest you post on a parent sponsorship thread.

Good Tuesday morning,

we have received COPR today May 26, and will likely make a trip to the border Friday! Thank you all for your support and encouragement and patience with all of my newb questions. You cannot begin to understand how valuable this resource has been to me.

Thank you!

Sundus - we have answered this question on several different threads. Once they have started working on your application, they will request medical. At this time no one knows exactly when. Your best option is to post under parent sponsorhip thread.

We have now landed and my hubby is officially a permanent resident!

A few updates for those who may be landing from Vancouver Island -

I called CIC to check the nearest office in case we decided to make an appointment - there isn't one on the Island! So if we had decided to make an appointment we would have to go to Vancouver.

I also called CBSA to double check which borders we could actually land at, and although there is a border crossing at the Victoria/Port Angeles ferry it is not staffed to handing the landing procedure, so we had to leave the island, and went to the Douglas/Peach Arch border crossing. We flag poled and came back again. No problems.

canuck_in_uk you were correct - if we wanted to land at Vancouver Airport (Or Victoria) we have to be arriving from an international flight...you can't land at an airport without leaving the country.

So all done. As others have said before this was an invaluable resource. Thank you ALL SO MUCH for your help and advice along they way.

That's weird. My partner flagpoled through that crossing 2 years ago without issue and I believe there have been a few others on the forum who have also landed there since then.

Oh well, you're landed and done now, so congrats!

What to expect after "in process" status ?

How long usually it takes for PPR after "in process" , assuming all the documents are complete and up to date?

Thanks

Great news . Congratulations !!

I checked the immigration website today and found the following:

Sponsorship
1. We received your application to sponsor XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX on March 27, 2015.

2. We started processing your application on April 27, 2015.

3. We sent you a letter on May 22, 2015 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

I haven't received this letter yet. Is it safe to assume this means stage 1 is complete?
