Hi - this forum is a life saver - thanks so much everyone for posting your experiences...it's so helpful in what is a very confusing process.

So my application was received today in Mississauga(24 Feb 2015)
Am British, married to a Canadian
Current location: Birmingham, UK
Meds done: 19 Jan 2015
Police check done: 5 Feb 2015

Could I be added to the spreadsheet please?

Thanks so much, pete

Looks like we have a very similar timeline Pete. Fingers crossed for fast, smooth processing!

Thanks! And just to be sure, it's Undertaking application – Kit A – without financial requirements, correct? I was always under the impression that I had to comply with financial requirements since it's a sponsorship case.

Yes, it's Kit A.

Residents (or future residents) of Québec do not need to meet ANY financial requirements if they're only sponsoring a partner. You're just signing an undertaking - you're basically saying you'll be responsible for the principal applicant financially for the next 3 years. If they claim benefits, you may be asked to repay the government.

It's also why some forms in the CIC application kit don't apply to residents of Quebec.

If there are dependants, then you need to provide some proof of funds. But I don't know the specifics, as my husband and I don't have any children.

That would be nice! Over on the February thread there seems to be someone whose application was received the same day as mine and already has AOR - so plenty of hope!

Was put on this thread by someone, it is a great relief. Can you please add me to the spread sheet.

I'm Canadian, married to a Polish Woman.
4 years married
Location:Dublin
App Received: July 21 2014
Sponsor approval: Sept. 9 2014
Processing office: London

All added! :) Good luck!

PS, your username made me chuckle!

Actually... whether or not you are non-visa exempt depends on the type of Polish passport you have, haha. Go figure.

Does your wife have a biometric or non-biometric passport? If it's biometric then she's visa-exempt (does not need a visa to visit Canada); if it's a non-biometric, then she does require a visa. Let us know and we will update the spreadsheet accordingly.

FYI, info taken from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

Hi there,

Can I be added to the spreadsheet please?
-Date application received in Mississauga: December 2, 2014
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law: Married
-Date of sponsor approval: n/a
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email): n/a
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had: March 1, 2015
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt: visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant: Dublin, Ireland

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
We have not received AOR or SA.
We received an email today requesting two more photos, copies of pages of passport, and an updated info form. The email was sent by Mississuaga but we are to send the above to London if outside Canada.
We finally got our UCI number on this email and on it said, Application received.

Anyone have any insight on this? Or has this happened to them? Does this mean we have SA but they didn't contact us regarding it?

Welcome to the forum, I have added you to the spreadsheet.

The information they asked for today is your passport request, which means they are ready to issue your PR visa. Because you have had no communication regarding sponsor approval I will put today's date as the date you received sponsor approval.

I presume under the 'Sponsorship Application Status' part in ECAS it says 'Decision Made', correct? And under 'Permanent Residence Application Status' it says 'Application Received'? If so this is because ECAS is updated after actions occur on your file, not before.

So in a nutshell, your PR visa is waiting to be issued! Your application stayed in Mississauga which if you look at the spreadsheet has been completing some application in under 3 months!

Andrew - I just stuck the sponsor approval date in as 1-March instead just so that it doesn't confuse the spreadsheet too much, can't be bothered changing the formulas for same-day! :)

Yeah was going to message you and suggest a change, no worries boss

Total days being 90 is still accurate, 1 day isn't going to hugely throw averages, so we'll just go with it. :)

Thanks so much for your reply! :) There is no 'Sponsorship Application Status' part but under the 'Permanent Residence Application Status' it says 'Application Received'.

Another quick question, it is okay to use the same photos we used for the application? Just get two more printed off? Thanks!!

Oh okay. Both the sponsor and then principal applicant get a UCI, however the e-mail they sent you perhaps only references your UCI (unique Client Identifier). If you use your spouse's UCI you can see the status of both your applications, but with the principal applicant's you only see the status of that application.

Just do whatever the e-mail asks. If it says recent then I would probably get new ones done just to be safe. If you decide to use the ones you had done previously then make sure they match any requirements they have provided you.
