I need some advise....

If my husband quits his job before I get my PR what will happen to our application?

It won't have any effect. He has been approved as a sponsor already, so they won't be looking into or thinking about his finances at all anymore. You'll be fine. Have you had any word yet on your daughter's medical?

The instructions you get with the COPR ask you not to fold the forms. Somewhere in the postal system, someone kindly folded everything up for me though!

I highly doubt this would cause a problem, but would someone let me know if any issues could arise from it before I make the 6 hour round trip to the border?

No reply about my daughters medical. I sent another email a couple of days ago and like Uk2Can, haven't had a reply. Our medicals expire on 21st June...time is ticking.

If it was just me I had to think about, I wouldn't be this worried but I'm trying to make this a smooth transition for my daughter. I wanted her to enjoy the summer in Canada before she enrolled in school etc, let her get use to the country, the culture and start off in a positive note. I really don't want her to start school again in August and then take her out of school in the middle of a term.

True, I've heard (seen?) some horror stories on this forum about horrible border agents.

Ugh, what a pain that would be! Both my girls are Canadian citizens so thank goodness I don't have to worry about that! Fingers crossed you hear something soon. I wish they would just get on with it.

Calling all those living in and around VICTORIA!!

I'm organizing a team for the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay, an great event that raises money to send disabled children to camp. Check out the site here http://www.24hourrelay.com/default.aspx?PageID=1018. It starts at 10am June 22nd and finishes at 10am June 23rd

Since I don't feel like running (or walking or skipping or prancing or twirling, to name just a few of the ways people do the relay ) the entire 24 hours myself, I'm looking for some TEAM MEMBERS! Besides the fact that it's for such a good cause, the event itself is a lot of fun and a great way to get out and meet new people. They have a beer garden , lots of organized sports and activities (ultimate frisbee competition at 1:30 am?), entertainment, massages, etc. If anyone is interested in participating, let me know!

it says "upon receipt AND review"....so most likely, they have received it, but they haven't reviewed it yet - so if you have the tracking that they have received it, I don't think there is anything to worry about....

Thanks, Sweden. I've seen it a few times on the forum over the past couple of days - slightly ambiguous wording sending people into a tizzy. I think sometimes you just need an unclouded pair of eyes to look at it lol. Thanks again.

Ok, question time!

I'm heading over to the States for a bit next month to use up free money for the Seneca Casino. Am I going to run into any issues coming back in as I won't have a PR card at that point? Will my copy of the signed COPR suffice as a substitute?

In fact, would I have trouble getting in the States? The last stamp in my passport at that point would be about 7 months old which probably would look a bit iffy.

I'm in (most likely!) and I can probably convince my partner too - he is an ultimate frisbee player, and can probably run for a bit as well Send me more info - and I'll try and convince a few other people!

CAN I ASK ONE LAST QUESTION TO EVERYONE?! MY DAUGHTERS CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE ARRIVED YESTERDAY ... WE WERE PLANNING ON HER TRAVELLING IN ON HER BRITISH PASSPORT AND APPLYING FOR A CANADIAN PASSPORT OUT THERE AS WE ARE PRESSED FOR TIME. DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE OK WITH IMMIGRATION?? THAT SHE IS NOT ON MY COPR (BECAUSE SHE IS NOW CONSIDERED A CITIZEN). SO TRAVELLING OUT ON BRITISH PASSPORT AND PRESENTING CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE AT IMMIGRATION? I CAN'T SEE WHY NOT, JUST WANTED TO RUN IT BY YOU BEFORE I CAN CELEBRATE! SWEDEN WHAT DO YOU THINK

I hve applied on Oct, 2012 but No update on ECAS since Nov, 2012 . Just showing that application and medicals have been received. I hope everything is alright with my application and they havent lost any paper or receipt :'(. I keep reading updates on this topic so that I can estimate the processing timing but seems like there is no hard and fast rule. Congrats to all who have received their PR and gud luck for the rest of u .

7th March 2013 - Additional Document requested (Australian Police Certificate)
11 March 2013 - In Process
11 April 2013 - Emailed London to ask what on earth was going on!
12 April 2013 - Decision Made & COPR received!

All the stress is definitely worth the feeling at the end everyone, hang in there!
