Hey bonita. What field of work are you in? Best of luck with the apartment! What area is it in?

We didn't get it. Someone else put in a higher offer. It was in the Entertainment District. Going for the second choice now...

Looking for PA/Admin work....

That sucks pal! The same thing happened to us too, and it's tricky because the Ontario rules mean you can't have an official offer in for more than 1 place at a time! We had a viewing lined up for the day we landed and they cancelled because they took another offer. This happened three times, and then all three of them contacted me after we found our apartment, to offer it to us because of credit checks failing on the other applicants. Haha! JUSTICE. Anyway, keep on trying. You shall find something great. :)

All the august applicants seem to be moving forward except me... :( I am feeling very left out. The August thread is filling up with in process comments and PPR's and COPR's. I miss my husband and I'm sick of being in limbo

Hang in there - soon enough I should think...I am September and hubby is with me on Visitor's visa - I know I would not have made it otherwise - must be very tough...

Ecas still says application received. I have decided not to go with that anymore tho. Seems like they cant be bothered with updating it so i doubt if its a true reflection of where your file actually is in terms of processing.

We sure will.

true - ecas doesn't always reflect how things are going. Mine went from Application received to Decision Made, no in process or anything like this. Hopefully you're near the end!
Good luck,
Sweden

Hey SaMoS,

I haven't done it yet, and was thinking about it recently, because indeed certifications seems to be important here - I have never been asked for it before, but why not... and it would keep me busy! I'll look into it and might come back to you with questions.
Do you have a job lined up already? Hope your PR comes through quickly!
Sweden

Canada is very different to the UK, as the Uk focus more on experience then qualifications but Canada focuses more qualifications .

Because of these reason I’ve been studying for the past year and half otherwise I’d have no certificates at all lol, well maybe just 2 which is my Network+ and A+.
I’ve managed to get my MCITP, CCNA, PMP and ITIL foundation currently studying CCNP.

Don’t worry Sweden because if you went to study your PM qualification in the UK you most likely would of ended up doing Prince2 which is only recognised in the UK.

I’d advise you to get your PMP which you can get under a month with minimal studying and then for sure get your ITIL foundation which would also give your resume a massive push, and I’d bet you get a job in less than a month with your previous experience to include.

I wish you luck

I'm closing in on joining the '300 club'. 359 is the record on the spreadsheet, lets see if I can beat that. Qtaz and I must certainly be close to the highest time ever seen for a visa exempt application. Another record I could possibly beat (that Qtaz is actually behind me on) is longest time 'in progress' at London. Yaaaaaaaaay!

I admire your humour, you gave me a giggle!

I feel your pain, although I am only reaching 200 days, I'm not sure I could last until 244. I admire your strength.

It's tough. I really thought I'd be done by now. It's hard to imagine it'll ever end!

Including myself there are still June applicants waiting and July applicants. It's frustrating when things are moving for others but we just have to wait our turn! I feel your frustration.. I have very little patience left!

p.s a lot of the people on the August thread are for different VOs... London must be the slowest of them all :(

I'm sure this has been discussed, but wondering if the London processing time of 9 months....,is this from when they receive my application(December) or when I sent it off in the first place(October)?
On a plus, my husband has been in kelowna BC for 1 week, he's found a flat to move to next week and 2 hopeful job interviews! I just wanna be over there already!
Xx

It's from October. If that helps (!).

In other news - eager readers may remember that I was asked to supply a certificate from the Israeli police as I lived there for 10 months (this seems to be a new requirement!). This is now on its way to the Canadians so hopefully my PR will be issued soon.

My Ecas is finally working....and no change to the status: "Application received". Although I know they have opened and started to review the application as they have asked for more information!

Arrrgh! I'm fed up.

Rant over.

S.

When i click on Application Received link (under PR application section rather than Sponsorship, which is 'Decision Made') it gives me the date it arrived in Miss. and also says 'Medical Results received' below that - is that a good indication that London VO now has my file?

Hey DGT

How have you found the house buying process with regards to credit history in Canada? We're in the process of setting up accounts with HSBC in Canada because we bank with them in the UK and they said that our credit history could transfer over which sounds good in theory...

To all those over in Canada at the moment -

What is the job climate like over there? I'm really desperate to start applying for jobs but they won't even look at me as my PR status has not come through yet. Is the climate really tough? (A bit of an open ended question - I know!!)

I have a degree in Art History/Culture and ideally would like something in the Arts sector suchlike .... Events/Galleries/Advertising etc! Can anyone in the same boat recommend where to even start? Of course, initially I wouldn't care what I did!

Much appreciated!! :D

Hi peeps! Just got an email from London....surprised they didn't make me was it the full 28 days!
I was asking about my medicals as they expire next month. They have said they're applying for an extension and my file is waiting food review....this is good right?

It's from when they receive your application. The processing times for Stage 1 (sponsor approval) and Stage 2 (London) are different. So the 9 months London time begins only when Stage 1 is complete
