I'm about 20-30 minutes north of Barrie. You'd figure Barrie would have something for me, but I've not seen a lot. I'm probably looking in all the wrong places, though!scottishmaple said:where are you?

This site is quite good, it lets you refine your search based on areas, so you can add 5 areas around Barrie. Not sure if this link will show you, but I selected Barrie and then added areas around it, but it seemed that most jobs were in Toronto. But if you look at the left it actually gives you the number of jobs available in each area in brackets which is handy.Korma said:I'm about 20-30 minutes north of Barrie. Hey, that looks handy. Thanks! Filtering by city is nice!scottishmaple said:This site is quite good, it lets you refine your search based on areas, so you can add 5 areas around Barrie. Someone else on Britishexpats was asked for this and did the same as you. You are correct in your interpretation of the question and answered it correctly. I answered it the same as you. There is a debate on the other forum discussing the actual question and it's meaning.Dawlphin_17 said:so.... just got annoying email requesting MORE documents. As before when we had a document requested that was not originally required (Travel history), they are requesting more information not originally required.
Here is the email:
I refer to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to continue processing your application, we require the following information:
Schedule A Background Declaration form. Please list your full personal history from 01/99- 03/02 on Question 8 of the form. You may provide the information via email http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp
The thing is, on the form it asks for full personal history since the age of18, or the last ten years, whichever is most recent. Which is what we included... from 06/02-06/12 (10 years of history, taking my partner to age 21, as requested). Now they are requesting the information until his 18th birthday...
If that is what they wanted, I wish they would have just asked for it in the first place (I had to write and delete this last sentence three times as to not offend anyone with my language!!!!!)
Hey SaMoS,SaMoS said:Hey Sweden,
For PM roles I've found they like a PMP qualification here in Canada. Have you done it? I spent my free time (while job hunting and waiting for PR) to read and pass (4 hour exam) the qualification. It might help you get the role you want. Worked for me...now I just need the PR!

If it cheers you up, getting 'in progress' isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'd much rather have not been told that my file is 'in progress' than given the false hope of being told my file is 'in progress' OVER 10 WEEKS ago. I never used to check ECAS that often now I check it all the time because of this false hope.scottishmaple said:All the august applicants seem to be moving forward except me... I am feeling very left out. The August thread is filling up with in process comments and PPR's and COPR's. I miss my husband and I'm sick of being in limbo
Yeah, I got the job sorted, just need the PR. Let me know if you do decide to do PMP as I have managed to pull together some good material.Sweden said:Hey SaMoS,
I haven't done it yet, and was thinking about it recently, because indeed certifications seems to be important here - I have never been asked for it before, but why not... and it would keep me busy! I'll look into it and might come back to you with questions.
Do you have a job lined up already? Hope your PR comes through quickly!

Ecas still says application received. I have decided not to go with that anymore tho. Seems like they cant be bothered with updating it so i doubt if its a true reflection of where your file actually is in terms of processing.chopsticks said:We have a longer wait, but I think we have waited enough.
Our timeline is very similar. My husband's medical was done in March as well.
If you dont mind me asking what does your status online show?
We will be done very soon I hope!
