Hehe. Buying a house... I'm a poverty stricken 25 year old! No hope of me getting a mortgage any time soon! But, in so far as credit your credit will not carry over. However, I believe that both HSBC and AMEX will give credit based on foreign credit files! So you will have a good start if they are willing to get you set up with a credit card and mortgage etc!rpurdie said:Hey DGT
How have you found the house buying process with regards to credit history in Canada? We're in the process of setting up accounts with HSBC in Canada because we bank with them in the UK and they said that our credit history could transfer over which sounds good in theory...
Otherwise, I would recommend Scotiabank as being the best bank for newcomers here!
