Still hunting Sweden? What line of work are you in if you don't mind me asking?

I don't mind! :-) any help is appreciated! :-)
Project Management, with a strong background in HR. Mostly non-profit organisations. Bilingual French/English.
that's my CV in a nutshell!

Sounds like a strong one! I'm sure something great will pop up with a skill set like that. It's a shame you're not in Alberta. I bet you'd fly into a job there. But then you'd have to live in Alberta. Swings and roundabouts I guess :P

Indeed - when looking at Alberta job offers, I see a lot of places where I could get a job. But Victoria is home for now ! so I hope something will come up here at some point... getting a bit fed up with looking for a job!

I was in the same boat. I've actually found a job for when my PR comes in though which is awesome. It's a bit easier for me though as I just work in bars. A much simpler process for me to find work!

Congrats, that's great! nice to have a job lined up already, but probably makes the waiting even harder! from me I went from being a tourist (unemployed but that's normal!), to being a PR and unemployed - but somehow the second status still felt like a better one! :-)

Hehe. Totally! It'll be nice to have official status and feel like I belong. I went from working 7 days managing a busy bar/restaurant to sitting on my ass all day long. Horrid! I thought I'd like the break but I really don't! I had to give away all my booze too before coming over as I could only bring one bottle with me (my 40yo Dalmore King Alexander). Can't wait to be working, chatting and having fun again.

What's Sweden's national drink? Is it Aquavite?

Vodka would be I guess, or Aquavite! but I'm not Swedish (despite my name) just lived in Sweden the last 2 years before moving to Canada! hence my name... confusing isn't it!

Oh I apologise! Where are you from originally? I am partial to Absolut. Good Swedish Vodka.

no worries - and I agree, I like Absolut as well! :-) originally French! (partial to good wines!)

Ah France. The home of Cognac, Chatueanuef de pape and my all time favourite drink, Grand Marnier.

Well played.
My mother lives there too!

Good to see some movements, congrats!
I still can't edit the spreadsheet, I have asked the owner again to add me and a couple of others, and will let you know when I have access to it.
Hopefully I can put a date in the "decision made" category for you at the same time! :-)
Sweden

Thanks so much Sweden, really appreciate it! I read that you are living in Victoria, how has the settling process been for you?

sincerly,
Lakwa

Hey Lakwa,

Victoria is nice! very pretty city, weather is usually quite nice (less rain than Vancouver for some reason!), and beautiful surroundings... in general, I'm adapting quite well, and like it here!
Only downside for the moment is the lack of jobs - started looking end of November, which is probably the worst time as December and January are really slow months, but hopefully something will come up soon!
Where are you headed once you get your PR?

Excellent news Lakwa. Here's hoping they get cracking on your freshly submitted paperwork and get that COPR out asap!

Thanks for the help DGT! Fingers crossed! :)

I really don't think I can bare to log into E-cas and see "Application Received" again.. it's soul destroying.

244 days and counting... :'(
