I thought you guys didn't consider yourselves a part of the UK?DGT said:Actually, bank holidays are variable depending on the Home Nation. Scotland has 9 bank holidays.
But yeah, I meant England rather than the UK as a whole.

And I never go south of the Clyde. And I lived right beside it! Hehe. It's funny how distant and fragmented communities are on such a tiny little island, when you go somewhere huge like Canada that manages to maintain a national identity over 6000 miles from coast to coast!Korma said:Well there you go, I've learned many things today!
Didn't mean to offend anyone with my generalizing of the UK! I'll be honest, I don't get out much and anything north of the M4 is just 'Northern Territory' to me!
Say what now? Haha.DGT said:I was just winding you up by the way. Absolutely no offence was taken. We're used to it. At least we don't get ignored as much as the Welsh!
Everyone forgets about the glorious principality of Wales! Which is a shame that given being under political influence from England for almost 1000 years, Wales has down better at maintaining it's own national identity than any of the other Home Nations!Gary_87 said:Say what now? Haha.
Welsh people kind of enjoy flying under the radar! We're kind of like a very subtle version of North Korea ... just without any of the craziness. Just sheep.DGT said:Everyone forgets about the glorious principality of Wales! Rwy'n caru Cymru!
That sir, is the greatest comparison I've ever heard. Made me lol.Gary_87 said:Welsh people kind of enjoy flying under the radar! We're kind of like a very subtle version of North Korea ... just without any of the craziness. Just sheep.
I'm sure I could get the welsh lonely planet to quote me on that too!DGT said:That sir, is the greatest comparison I've ever heard. Made me lol.
Hi Dakar. I would wait for further instruction on both matters. If they are satisfied with the application as a whole and are happy with it, they will apply to extend the validity of the medical and police certificates. It certainly would not hurt to contact them and ask about it though. I hope that you are near the end of your process!dakar23 said:Hi All,
My application went in process today. I have no idea how long i have to wait more.
2 questions
My police certificate is going to expire next week but they never asked me for another one. Shall i reapply for police certificate and update them?
My Medical is going to expire next month do i need to redo the medical wait. Or i should wait for further instruction from them?
Thanks
Family Day in BC was last monday, and it's apparently the first year it happens... not that it matters to me anyway as I'm still looking for a job! grrrr....DGT said:Ah Family Day. Because there aren't enough bloody bank holidays for the 9 to 5ers.
Ah, the recriminations of a grumpy service worker. Lovely. For the sake of trivia by the way, Family Day is a provincial holiday in Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Alberta. But it isn't a Federal holiday so the CIC should still be working away! Huzzah.
Good to see some movements, congrats!Lakwa said:Woohooo! Finally was able to check my status on ECAS and we were changed to "in process"!!!!!
So happy to know things are moving along! Good Luck everybody!
