The Notarized part - Do they need to be Notarized if the letters from Friends/family are originals?

Again, thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Lee.

yes - on the guideline for London it says "2 statutory declarations", and apparently that means notarized! ( I didn't know at the time when I applied).

THanks for your advice, i did apply on 4th april and sponsorship aproved on 10th july. We are married and my husband is sponsor.

I am still confused what they want actually by proof of development of relaionship. I was thinking about all the proof that we have about our relationship like email before marriage, marriage picture . Marriage certificate.

But proof for continue contract is easy and clear .

What do you think sweden?

Srehal, when is your interview mine is at 1pm. If yiu share what documnet they ask to take with you.

Regards

Bring indeed all the proofs from april to now to show that your relationship is still on-going. If you went to visit your sponsor, or the contrary, then bring that too...and if anything new has happened between the 2 of you (pregnancy, new discussions about a place to live, new decision about what type of job etc), then bring that too. CIC wants to see that even if you are away from each other, you are still a couple, and taking decision together, moving towards a common future together etc.
Good luck,
Sweden

4) office requested for processing this application

Is it ok like this - London, England

Or does it need full address

Thanks

Yep that's ok - you can choose from the "drop down menu".

Hi Lee- Two of them still do, yes. We had our two main letters of support (which in our case were from both sets of parents) notarized- in the UK it cost something like 40GBP to do it.

It's a very quick process, notary just scans through the content and stamps it- but I believe the letter authors need to take it to the notary themselves.

Indeed - the authors need to be there, as the notary is certifying that it's the person who signed, but not the content itself. So you need to bring the letters and the persons, and have them sign in front of the notary, who will check their ID. (you don't need to be there, they can do it themselves I believe).

Dear All,

I have a few questions, kindly help:

Q1: If I cancel my representative, will it have have any effect on my application e.g., delay in processing?

Q2: I have updated my address by sending London VO an email. On ECAS my address is changed but my residential country name is missing. should I inform them? I sent them email with country name. Notice: I am living and applied outside Canada.

What is COPR and when do I receive it? My application transfered to London in late November.

Replies from everyone are welcome, with special request to Sweden!

Thanks,
Q1: no, it shouldn't have any impact. A representative doesn't speed up your application, so the lack off doesn't do anything either.
Q2: You could try sending them a "case-specific enquiry" with your question and asking to add the name of the country.
Q3: COPR is confirmation of PR. It's the paper that confirms that your PR has been issued. If you're from a visa-exempt country, you don't need to send your passport, the COPR will be sent to your mailing address directly by post. If you're from a non-visa-exempt country, you will need to send your passport to the embassy, and they will return it with a visa (to travel to Canada) + 2 copies of COPR (just a sheet confirming your information), which you need to land as a PR on arrival in Canada.
When do you receive it? well - that's anybody's guess! it looks like they are working on applications received in London end August/beginning of September, so since yours in from Late November, you can assume that you have another 2,5 to 3 months before you hear anything from them.

Sweden! (just saw the special request at the end of your email! :-) )

IN PROCESS AS OF JANUARY 24TH!!!!!

I might have just jumped and danced around the room a little bit! After our first part of the application taking so long I never thought it would get to in process so soon, especially after the last week or so slowing down.

Mega excited, however I know this next part is just more waiting! Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer!
Good luck for the waiting part ( should be the final one!), great to see that something is moving in London, and progress is being made on your file!

Thanks Sweden.

Is the wait time for DM/interview different for everyone? About how long does it take normally?

if you look at the spreadsheet in my signature you'll see the average time. It differs for everybody as it depends on your case, (f you're visa-exempt it's faster than non visa-exempt), and it could go for 2 weeks "in process" to 2 months... or more. Or also just straight DM...
But you seem to have heard quite "early" compared to a lot of people (it seems that London is mostly working in applications that arrived in London end august or september - maybe they're making it up to you for the lengthy first stage approval!).
Good luck!

Haha I was hoping they would make up my long wait at the beginning somewhere along the line!! Should I expect to hear anything from the visa office, or is it simply waiting for DM and then the COPR to be sent to me? Should I expect anything by email or will correspondence only come by mail? Sorry for all the questions...

it's a bit of a guess, and all scenarios are possible! :-) It might go from "in process" to DM without further questions, and if you're from a visa-exempt, you will just get the COPR by post, one day!
However, they might have some questions/requests for you - additional forms, more proofs, an interview etc. In general, London seems to request these by email... but there is no guaranty, as it seems to be up to the officer in charge of your file.
If you're from a non-visa-exempt, then you would have to send in your passport ( that's good news! means they are ready to issue the COPR) so you will get a request.

I was just examining the spreadsheet trying to make some sense of what London are at in my mind. On doing so I think that they seem to be working differently than we thought (now, this is only my thinking and may not be correct!).
When I look at the spreadsheet and the people that seem to be in process at the moment or those who have recently recieved DM&COPR, it looks to me like they are working on applications based on the date(month) they were received in Mississauga (the date shown on ecas). So at the moment they look to be processing June applicants (with exception of non-visa exempt & some ppl who had to send additional documents)? Looking at antz21 whose file was received in June but not sent to London until Oct and they are now in process, this may be correct?

Just a thought??? I may be completely incorrect and is obviously not the same in every case.

I'm a little anxious.. my ecas still just says Application Received even though our lawyer confirmed our application is In Process?? I just want to see Decision Made :-[

I had the same reasoning a few months ago.... and then CIC messed up my logic again by seemingly working on application by date received in London - there was an argument on this thread about how to organise the spreadsheet to try and reflect what London is doing... and after watching it for a few months, I don't really see any logical pattern - that's the only thing that is consistent! :-) so your logic might be the correct one for a while, and then it changes... I know it's difficult, but try not to read too much into who gets approved etc - hopefully you'll be done soon!
DM would be good indeed!

You know what I learned? All the analysing in the world doesn't really help. One day, you're status will change. You will hear good news whether it be on ecas, email or snail mail. When you do, none of this will matter anymore. My advice is to wake up everyday with an optimistic attitude and remember, each day that goes past is one day closer to your approval.

Hang in there! It'll all be fine in the end.

:)

Yah you're right! It was just something that came to mind but as you said, London don't tend to follow any strict pattern really!
Thanks Sweden.

You are very right! It doesn't really matter what way they do it as you said. Everyday my optimism dwindles a little. I know the end is there obviously, it's just taking its sweet time!
Thanks bonitanita :)

I don't know how exactly they've set up processing (I guess none of us do!), but the scenario in my head is that applications for each months' applicant pool are tasked to various officers. I think that some immigration officers (unfortunately) work at different paces than others for whatever reason (they just work slower or it's their experience - no idea). Perhaps some officers will go by the dates received in Mississauga and others will go by the dates received in London. Who knows if CIC's processing is actually standardized or if it's a matter of personal taste once it hits a desk!

At my work we deal with a different kind of government application, and some of our people take two months to complete the same requirement/stage in that application that will take another person two weeks or even two days to do. I'm so glad my work doesn't have anything to do with people's lives because geez, lol.

That really sucks :(

I'm in the same position as you (in Canada waiting) so I totally feel for you. I never thought I'd be so desperate to go to work!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your quick approval :)

I know, it's really killing me not working. Especially as it's been so long and its a lot for my hubby to take on his own all this time.
but hopefully that will change soon!
thanks :)

I've tried to make sense of what order applications are processed in but I don't think it's worth trying.

I had a dream the other day that my COPR arrived... What a disappointment to wake up lol...
