Hey dakar23,

Good to hear that you have an interview date, as you say, it's better to know already now when to do. And 3 weeks gives you a reasonable amount of time to gather proofs. I don't know what the VO told you about the interview, but it seems that they want to see that you are still together with your sponsor. So what you need to prepare for the interview is proofs that you have kept in contact with your sponsor, and anything new happening with your relationship. Did you discuss (over email, chat etc) what will happen when you come to Canada, where you will live, etc? then get proofs of that. The VO wants to see that you and your sponsor are in regular contact, and that you are still in an "active" relationship. I don't know when you have applied, and I suppose you are married ? have you discussed anything new ( regarding children, possible jobs etc ) - then bring proofs. The VO wants to see that you are still a couple, and still committed to each other.

On this forum there is a list of questions you may be asked at an interview, so maybe it would be useful for you to prepare. In general, just be aware of all information from your sponsor (current job, past job, family members, etc), and you'll be OK.

Good luck,
Sweden

Maybe they decided to take another holiday..
That really sucks :(

I'm in the same position as you (in Canada waiting) so I totally feel for you. I never thought I'd be so desperate to go to work!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your quick approval :)

Good Afternoon All :D

We are just about ready to send off our Common-Law application but i need some help pleeeeease to clarify a few things:

IMM0008 form:
Question 3
How many family members, including you are in this application?
(This seems straight forward e.g. just me = 1. But the instruction guide says 'all family members, whether accompanying you to Canada or not')
Any ideas?

Question 10
Country of residence - I am putting down Canada addy as this is where i am currently living? Also what 'Date to' do i put? or do i just write 'Current' instead of a date? A few questions seem to be like this throughout various forms.

I have travelled a lot within the past 10yrs - I have most of my trips, but there are some that were booked through previous jobs - Will it affect me if i cant remember them all and exact dates?
Same as my work history... i know where i worked but what happens if i get the wrong month

do we have to fill out the statutory declaration of common-law union as we dont understand this bit at all???? I dont work nor have an income etc

Last one is about 'notarized'. What do we need to get notarized?
We are including approx 250 pics - her separation/divorce papers - a few family/friend letters, emails, txt messages, flight/trip emails, joint lease agreements etc. her current Notice of assessment/proof of income And how much approx does this cost on average?

Well peeps, that’s all i can think of for the moment...
Answers are really really appreciated!
Thank you all so much in advance...
Lee.

Hey Lee,

welcome to the forum!

Imm008: yes - 1 person, if there is only you, and no dependent. If you have children that you would like to sponsor later, then add them here, even if they are not coming to Canada now. If you don't add them now, you will never be able to sponsor them. If it's only you, then 1!

Question 10: what is your status in Canada? if you are on a temporary resident visa, then you can put Canada. Otherwise, you can put UK and add your Canadian address on the "mailing address part"
You can put the "date to ": date you're filling the forms (otherwise you might not be able to validate the form) and add an explanation that you are currently living at that address.
For travel history: fill it out at best as you can, and include an explanation that you have travelled for work quite a lot and hence do not remember all the details, but you have filled it out to the best of your ability. or something like this. Be as thorough as possible, and provide photocopies of your passport stamps if any. Explain that you don't have the plane tickets as they were booked by your work place ( I assume).
Try and not leave any gap in your work history. If you're not sure about a month, then explain it.
Declaration of common-law - no. The form is intended for couples that are sponsoring parents for example, where one is the main sponsor and the partner is the co-sponsor.
NOtarized: London requires 2 letters that are notarized, so get these ones. The rest should be fine, unless asked for it specifically, you can include normal photocopies. No idea how much it costs, phone around where you live and ask...
Good luck for your application,
Sweden

Im getting so impatient as of late. At first, I kinda realised it was going to be a while but now im just soooo impatient. We're now in almost 6 months and it can be another 3 before we hear. I think i've got a case of the blues when it comes to immigration. We currently live in the Uk ( im on a resident visa) but it expires in July and have to leave. Hopefully he will be coming with me. We've got two girls so he better be. The UK border Agency want me to go back to Canada to reapply if his paperwork doesnt come through by then. Anyways, I just needed to rant a wee bit. Im getting bummed out...! Any cures out there for the bummness and blues?? Suggestions welcome :(
UNfortunately not much to do, but the other suggestion ( not think about it too much until it's "your turn" is a good one ! if you start to expect an answer any day NOW - by the time they actually look at your application, you'll be nuts! :)

If you look at the spreadsheet, it seems that London is working on applications received (sponsor approval) around end AUgust, beginning September. Yours is mid october, so it's safe to assume that you won't hear for another month/6 weeks. So - just don't check ecas for another 3 weeks at least! I Know it's hard, but it helps.... just assume that you won't hear anything before beginning of March... if you hear before, that's great, but given the current timelines, that's unlikely.... But before July, that's quite likely! so chances are that you'll hear around March, and then have a good 3 months to prepare for your move, so that'll be perfect! :)
Good luck,
Sweden

Hi Sweden, Are you talking about form IMM5562 here (which says only required if applying to Paris)? or was there somewhere else the applicant was required to give dates and location of previous travel? Just wondering as we got 'additional documents requested' from CIC asking for this form and I'm just trying to figure out why we they have requested this. The only thing I can think is that my partner has got a new passort (was due for renewal) which didnt have stamps from his travels in Southeast asia, and therfore they are asking because of that?! Im so stumped and annoyed as am sure we had supplied them with everything they requested!!

IMM5562 is indeed only for Paris office, but maybe they requested it from you because you didn't include much information ? on the guideline, and in one of the forms, there is a space where you have to put the details of all your previous travel history, with dates, proofs etc. If you haven't given any of the information in the "normal form" ( I had to include an extra sheet as I have quite a long travel history), then most likely that's why they are asking for it now. And even if IMM5562 is only for Paris, it's probably a convenient format to read, so instead of having you figuring out which format to use, they provide you with one.
Good luck,
Sweden

Hi. I'm after a definitive answer as I can't seem to find a clear explanation regarding the B4 forms. There's lots about it, but nothing simple and clear.

When printing out a B4 form, the code on the bottom is B4 E. I know I have to have the B4 form. Is the B4 E form different from a B4 from, or is this a different name for it?

What is the difference between a B4 form and a B4 A form? Is one for 'goods we're taking with us' and one for 'goods to follow'?

We're landing in Vancouver on 19th Feb, so any help on this would be appreciated. The simpler the better would be great :p
Hey NevilleUK,

There is a thread on B4 forms here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/b4b4a-t129820.0.html maybe it will help.
I think the E at the end of B4 stands for "english", so that should be the same!
Good luck,
Sweden

[THanks for your advice, i did apply on 4th april and sponsorship aproved on 10th july. We are married and my husband is sponsor.

I am still confused what they want actually by proof of development of relaionship. I was thinking about all the proof that we have about our relationship like email before marriage, marriage picture . Marriage certificate.

But proof for continue contract is easy and clear .

What do you think sweden?

Srehal, when is your interview mine is at 1pm. If yiu share what documnet they ask to take with you.

Thank you so much Sweden... Just want everything to go through ok :)

Im actually on an 'Implied Temp residence' as i still have not heard back from immigration in relation to requesting my extension. I sent it in July as my last extension was expiring in Sept 2012. I put the date to extend to as 8th March 2013 - their speedy workers ;)

Regarding the 'Date to' i will put 8th Marh 2013 as this is the date i had requested my extension until & add a little comment in the 'Other' box next to the dates as there is no-where else to add a comment :(

The Notarized part - Do they need to be Notarized if the letters from Friends/family are originals?

Again, thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Lee.

Dear All,

I have a few questions, kindly help:

Q1: If I cancel my representative, will it have have any effect on my application e.g., delay in processing?

Q2: I have updated my address by sending London VO an email. On ECAS my address is changed but my residential country name is missing. should I inform them? I sent them email with country name. Notice: I am living and applied outside Canada.

What is COPR and when do I receive it? My application transfered to London in late November.

Replies from everyone are welcome, with special request to Sweden!

Thanks,

Hi Lee- Two of them still do, yes. We had our two main letters of support (which in our case were from both sets of parents) notarized- in the UK it cost something like 40GBP to do it.

It's a very quick process, notary just scans through the content and stamps it- but I believe the letter authors need to take it to the notary themselves.

IN PROCESS AS OF JANUARY 24TH!!!!!

I might have just jumped and danced around the room a little bit! After our first part of the application taking so long I never thought it would get to in process so soon, especially after the last week or so slowing down.

Mega excited, however I know this next part is just more waiting! Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer!
