Thanks everyone for the help, got some good ideas now on how to prove my intent to return! I only have one other question for you guys, then I promise to stop swamping the page with questions! :)

I'm filling out the 'Additional Family Information' form (IMM 5496), and I'm a little confused. I'm so nervous to make a mistake with this application as it could add so many extra months for a minor error, so apologies for such a silly question, but...

Do we include my partners brother in the section for siblings, even though he will not (and I'd imagine never will) be coming to Canada? And the same for his parents, do we include them in the form?

Silly question, I know, but it may save months of worry that I haven't jeopardised our application!

Thanks in advance.

I don't remember the form very well, but if they ask for siblings etc, just include all. Don't skip anyone. If you are unsure, attach a separate sheet explaining these people will not go to Canada with you. I remember making a list with my siblings' names and addresses etc. They won't move to Canada.

Your partner is the one being sponsored right? If so then yes, he should include his brother on this form. And his parents.
I know these forms can be quite complicated to fill out. Ask as many questions as you like. Better to ask than assume.

I got my passport request this morning!!!!

I'm so relieved and excited!!! 8)

I've been dancing around the apartment telling my partner that he's stuck with me now. ;D

They want more photos though! I've sent so many damn photos. What are they doing with them all?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Thats great news!

I know, so many photos! These final 2 are for your COPR for when you land and for your PR card.

Congrats!!!

Hi,

Question for anyone who can help....

Did anyone ship all there stuff to Canada? If so, who did you use?

I find them all very expensive.

Thanks

Morning!

We used 1st Move International - they were very efficient and friendly, our stuff took 6 weeks from Brighton to Edmonton. Just make sure you get a quote door-to-door, or you'll need to go to a depot and pick your stuff up - total nightmare if you don't know anyone with a truck or have to rent one.

What exactly do they tell you when they ask for your passport? Do you have to ship it within a certain amount of days and do they say how long it will take for you to get it back again?
