how does one normally hear about Stage 1 from Miss. - is it email or snail mail?

and isn't it frustrating that the weekly processing time stats aren't updated promptly!?!
AOR is always by email but not always sent ( not everybody gets one), approval can be email or snail mail...
Good luck!

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have an idea when the London VO will start working on applications received in July and transferred to London in early October?

Much obliged. :D

p.s. tired of waiting(pulling hair out)
That's a guess for everybody! :) if you look at the spreadsheet it will give you an idea more or less. I would say they are somewhere in September by now... but some applicants who got sponsor approval in october already went in process for example, so they might be looking at some applications received in October...hopefully you'll hear very soon, you're coming close to the 4 months mark, quite a few people started hearing from CIC at that point - hang in there! (and keep your hair, will come in handy once in Canada!)

For what I can understand, Skype doesnt allow you to export chat history and as easily as MSN, you need a third party software. I foud this website/program with instruction video. Hope this helps. I do not use Skype so I couldnt test it for you and I don't know if it will work...but it is worth a try. http://www.kudosknowledge.com/products/kudos-chat-search-for-skype/
Hi Thanks a lot, I will try with that and let you know.

Hey there rpurdie, well when I hear any more information I will let you know. I did hear from London office today though and they emailed informing me:

"Your application is in process or waiting to be reviewed by an immigration officer. It has arrived within our London office. No further action is required by you at this time."

I guess it is the start of a long wait now! Are you living in the UK still or biding your time here in Canada?

Cheers!

Hi all,

I posted a couple of weeks back about my girlfriend and I applying for me to sponsor her, we are sending off the application by Friday 15th Feb. We are currently putting together our mass collection of bills/letters/photos/ etc together. I was just looking for feedback as to how/what you all found to be the easiest, most organized way of presenting your photos?? - We are thinking of going with referencing them in our answer to Questions 9 & 20 of IMM 5490, as that seems most logical to us, but any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

One question I have is - we have asked both of our parents to write a letter confirming the facts of our relationship (dates/known relatives etc etc), my question is, are they required to be Notarized??

It's all coming to the nervous tipping point of waiting for so long for the ball to start rolling and now your at the top of the hill ready to push the ball, it's feels quite nervous knowing whether it will be up or downhill from there. ::)

looking forward to hearing from you all.

Thanks in advance.

2 of the declarations need to be notarized. if you have more than 2, then you can choose which ones you want notarized.
About organising - as long as you reference everything, then you'll be good! we printed 3 pictures per page (copy paste on word doc), and added the captions of who/when/what to explain it, and at the top we had a line with applicant name/form number/ question xx to make it easy. It seems similar to what you want to do!
Good luck putting everything together - then you can join the waiting group! :)

Hi there mssmith,

My husband and myself quoted from how we met and cross referenced our photographs. We also put our photographs onto chronological order. It may be over the top, but this is how we laid out our additional/ supporting documentation:

Section 1: Communication
Please note that not all emails sent and received are shown, but is purely indicative of communications sent back and forth.
A: Email
B: Cards and letters given to each other
C: Cards, letters and emails from friends and family
D: Letters of support from friends and family

Section 2: Joint Documentation
A: Apartment lease (Seascape Apartments)
B: Cellular bill (Rogers)
C: Electricity bill (BC Hyrdo)
D: Credit card statement (vancity)
E: Internet account (TELUS)
etc...

Section 3: Receipts, tickets and Miscellaneous
A: Receipts, tickets and various collected items

Section 4: Photographs Throughout Relationship
A: Robert and David meet in San Francisco, USA - June, 2010
B: David visits Vancouver - August, 2010
C: David visits Vancouver - September, 2010
D: Robert and David fly to England - September, 2010
E: Robert and David visit France - September, 2010
etc...

Section 5: Travel Documentation
A: International Experience Canada (IEC) visa
B: Various flight/ travel confirmation

Hope that gives a little help as to what we did :)

We got an email saying a decision had been made on Stage 1, but then we had to wait for snail mail to find out what the decision was!!!

I just put probably about 4/5 photos on a page and printed them off, then I hand wrote under each one the month/year/names/occasions. I just included them altogether as an extra part of our application, I don't think I referenced to them at all.
Looking back I did not do the most organised/tidy job of it but hopefully they don't hold it against me now!

Brilliant! I've really had enough of waiting and not knowing when I can go home so we just thought about this today and said why not? I was pretty sure it would be ok but just wanted to check! Booking my flight to fly out Sunday once I speak to the lawyer. Cant wait. This will make the wait a bit easier for me ;D
Have a wonderful time at home!! Being around friends and family the last few weeks will hopefully fly by!

Yes that is a great idea to break the categories down into sections like that. I hadn't thought of that to be quite honest. I imagine it appears all clear and concise and easier to reference too. - Thanks for that, much appreciated!

Thanks again Sweden! - I thought I had read something, somewhere in the guide that they had to be notarized, just couldn't find it again. - as the saying goes... "couldn't see wood for trees"

We were thinking of doing 3-4 pictures per page with annotations of who/where/when/why and I think we may make reference them in our answers to question #9 & #20

I am so very much looking forward to coming home from work and not having to tackle or even think about paperwork night after night! - will all be worth it in the end! ;D

Yep - it was so strange once the application was sent off, because it was like a daily activity in the evenings (trying to piece everything together) and in the week ends as well.... and suddenly it was gone! also - was nice to have a dinner table back after a few months of having it covered in papers....
Good luck with the final part!

Yes, papers do get everywhere. Organization plays a big part in the whole process, that's for sure.

Thanks again Sweden!
