No not yet. Just the sponsorship side saying "decision made". But the permanent application side is still saying "not available" or something to that extent. I think someone else told me ages ago that London does send AOR letters. Yet in the September thread there are people who are going through the London office that have dates under the AOR column. It's all very confusing. I am assuming that such as respectable and professional establishment such as CIC tracks their mail when sending applications abroad, hence, none of our applications should technically be lost in the mail. I just had way too many bad experiences with both Canada Post and Royal Mail!
I hear ya on the postie thing! I used the date of In Progress on ECAS as my AOR, you aren't far behind me (a week I think) so hang in there, you should hear soon xx

i heard the AOR rumour too...i hope thats not true, because it can take up to 9 months, is everyone assuming its going to take that long? Just would be nice to hear that they have received it you know. I heard you can email them...has anyone done this?
Don't fret! From my understanding it can take up to 9 months (although the London office is currently stating up to 6 months) when there are complications. If you look at the August and September threads, those who are going through the London office are getting their PPR in 3 months from when they submitted their initial application. Positive thoughts :D

11 months later, 2 medical exams, 6 months wait for an interview, one year apart, my husband finally received a letter in the mail requesting for his passport. The best part is that it happened while I was visiting him after a year of being apart in the Christmas holidays. Passport has been sent today and now just praying and praying and praying for everything to run smoothly, get it bad with a visa, no problems and no delays.

This forum brought so much comforting and support during some of my worst days. Thank you everyone and I'll keep you posted!
I am so happy for you! Congratulations! Based on other recent posts his passport should be returned within 7 working days! Sounds like you had one heck of a roller-coaster ride!

Hi all :D

A quick question for those who've been through the process...when London actually starts processing, do they issue a new Client ID/File ID for the sponsored spouse or does the same Client ID that I received in my sponsorship approval letter stay with our application until the end?

My wife changed her name on her passport to my surname after we sent in the application so I need to submit a new passport scan. I was told by the London VO that it would be no problem but I should wait until they had begun processing. Unfortunately I don't think they send out AORs and my eCas hasn't been updated to "In Process" even though it has been more than 40 days since the file was transferred. I'm thinking of submitting it anyway in case they're working on it but just not updating eCas, but don't want to do it if we're due to receive a new ID of some kind.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Mike
Hey Mike,

Just realised me and you are on exactly the same timeline. My app was transferred on the 23/11. Be interesting to see how they differ from here. Mine still isn't showing as in progress either :)

I didn't receive any AOR from London either. I was roughly a month ahead of you and one day the PPR email came...the snow/Christmas break & post will have delayed everything but hopefully you'll hear something soon. Fingers crossed for you xx
You are lucky and at last received the PPR e-mail....a cheerup case among us.

Seems no further progress for those files transfered to London Office in November. I am one of the November file......... :(

Hey all - just a quickie....on the Sponsor Questionnaire....at the very end it says "on a separate sheet of paper, provide any additional details of your current relationship that you believe would help to prove your relationship is genuine and continuing".

We've got LOADS of backup documentation and we've each written "relationship essays" which detail any significant moments (meeting friends, family, moving in together, holidays) from the beginning of our relationship. We were going to put all of this under a separate tab at the end called "additional supporting documentation" but not sure if you guys have any recommendations on what/if anything we should be putting at the end of the questionnaire?

Cheers, dish. ;)

Hey d-tilley,

Have you posted in the October Applicants thread? You should if you haven't :)

It will be interesting to see how things go. I really hope we start getting updates of some kind. I just want confirmation that they've received the package and a File number so I can update them with a new passport scan! We went through months of hassle filling out their application forms, collecting evidence and jumping through all of their hoops the least they can do is return the favour and keep us updated. These packets that people put together are the product of a lot of hard work and represent their future lives together...I'd like to think they'd be treated with a fairly high level of respect.

Best of luck to all of us!
Mike

Hey dish,

We did the same thing with the relationship essays but we included them at the end of the sponsor questionnaire. Our detailed backup stuff (photos, receipts, emails, etc) was included as part of the Immigrant application in a "Proof of Relationship to Sponsor" section. Not sure how much it matters where in the application these things are...just so long as they're there.

Cheers,
Mike

My hubby sent his "essay" about our relationship and it took up half a page :( He's rubbish when it comes to writing! I didn't explain, but just included various leases that we had together in the last five years, combined account documents, water, gas and electricity bills with both our names on it that date back a number of years, and not to mention dreaded council tax bills! I thought if I can prove that we were a "common law" couple for four years then the marriage certificate would just be extra info in a sense. In light of all the issues regarding "marriages of convenience" it seems that it is easier to apply as a common law couple rather than married! And of course we sent a bunch of photos illustrating the "development of our relationship". We both aged a bit in the last five years so hopefully they'll see this ;)

Do you ever wonder what they do with all of this stuff? I seriously hope that they would send it back to us. I'm sure they only keep it on file for a few years. If not, they must have a massive building dedicated to applications!

mmhughes - I often wonder what they do with all of the stuff too.....it does say somewhere that you shouldn't send in anything that you don't need/want back as you won't get it. Who knows....

Fingers crossed we'll send this all of my Monday next week. Four months and several tense moments later I'll be glad to have it out of our hands!!

So annoyed!! I just received a PPR from the London Visa Office - for someone else!! Addressed to me but with someone else's name and file number and a 'valid for entry until' date that I can tell is wrong because it isn't a year from the date of my medical. So frustrating!!

I know - so annoyed!!!!! Now they've sent me another email saying sorry, the visa is actually valid until September 1st 2011 - which is a year from the date of my medical but it STILL has the other person's name and file number. I've now responded to both their emails requesting clarification but it's just so ridiculous and I probably wont get any reply for ages! :(
