i heard the AOR rumour too...i hope thats not true, because it can take up to 9 months, is everyone assuming its going to take that long? Just would be nice to hear that they have received it you know. I heard you can email them...has anyone done this?
Hey Shorttalk - I figure if they change it to In Progress they have it? My fingers are crossed anyway lol!

I didn't receive any AOR from London either. I was roughly a month ahead of you and one day the PPR email came...the snow/Christmas break & post will have delayed everything but hopefully you'll hear something soon. Fingers crossed for you xx

MMHUGHES and MandiF - Rumour has it London doesn't send AOR letters at all. I am only going by what ECAS says. It would be nice for some consistency in all Embassies so this wouldn't be so confusing!

mmhughes, did your ECAS change yet?
I have no change in my ECAS yet at all. Still nothing... ho hum....

Hopefully will just get a wonderful PPR...

11 months later, 2 medical exams, 6 months wait for an interview, one year apart, my husband finally received a letter in the mail requesting for his passport. The best part is that it happened while I was visiting him after a year of being apart in the Christmas holidays. Passport has been sent today and now just praying and praying and praying for everything to run smoothly, get it bad with a visa, no problems and no delays.

This forum brought so much comforting and support during some of my worst days. Thank you everyone and I'll keep you posted!

My sponsorship was approved and file transferred to London 8th October. They started processing 22nd Oct. The PPR came 3rd Dec and the passport was back to us on 13th Dec.
The email went to my inbox, not junk but I had sent a query to CIC from the email account so maybe that's why (maybe?!?). I was lucky enough to avoid the weather and Christmas delays. There seems to have been lots of disruption in London in general because I'm still waiting for parcels/post that should have been with me for Christmas!!!

Hi all :D

A quick question for those who've been through the process...when London actually starts processing, do they issue a new Client ID/File ID for the sponsored spouse or does the same Client ID that I received in my sponsorship approval letter stay with our application until the end?

My wife changed her name on her passport to my surname after we sent in the application so I need to submit a new passport scan. I was told by the London VO that it would be no problem but I should wait until they had begun processing. Unfortunately I don't think they send out AORs and my eCas hasn't been updated to "In Process" even though it has been more than 40 days since the file was transferred. I'm thinking of submitting it anyway in case they're working on it but just not updating eCas, but don't want to do it if we're due to receive a new ID of some kind.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Mike

Hi guys,

Just thought I would add in that my file was transferred on November 23rd and mine is still N/A on the London section. Even with all the weather delays and stuff like that I'm still hopefully that they will have received my application and are working on it.

I'm got my fingers crossed anyway because my work permit runs out on January 16th, and my employer keeping asking me when they can renew my contract :D

Good luck all

Hi All it looks like its confirmed that those who have the following applications in process wont receive an AOR

For all permanent resident applications (except Family Class, Provincial Nominees, Arranged Employment and Quebec applications), a letter of Acknowledgement of Receipt is sent to the applicant within 24 weeks from the date this office receives the completed application. The Acknowledgement provides details of processing times. Please read it carefully.

this was from the london website http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/processing-traitement.aspx?lang=eng

boooooooo :(

No not yet. Just the sponsorship side saying "decision made". But the permanent application side is still saying "not available" or something to that extent. I think someone else told me ages ago that London does send AOR letters. Yet in the September thread there are people who are going through the London office that have dates under the AOR column. It's all very confusing. I am assuming that such as respectable and professional establishment such as CIC tracks their mail when sending applications abroad, hence, none of our applications should technically be lost in the mail. I just had way too many bad experiences with both Canada Post and Royal Mail!
