If you haven't received an AOR, why does your timeline say AOR: March 17th?

Hadn't heard from BUF till my husband (sponsor) emailed them about 2 weeks ago. Response received
was a generic one...'your application is in process'...which I find hard to believe as we haven't even received an AOR email/snail mail. I have no B or F #. I can only log onto ecas using my husbands info. The only info I see under the permanent residence section is 'We received xxxx application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011.'

So now, wishful thinking...Has anyone gone straight to PPR w/o receiving AOR and/or In process?

I have to delete that.
I initially had thought that b/c ecas said 'We received xxx application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011' that this meant AOR. However, after reading several posts on this forum, I realized AOR is received through email or snail mail (which I haven't received either).... Is this correct? or am I confusing AOR with something else?

I would consider this your AOR. Our AOR email pretty much said the same thing, we received xxx application for permanent residence on January 26, 2011, which is what our Ecas says.

We never even got anything other than an Ecas update...actually I sent an email asking for a file number so we could update the information.

I got an email about the update from ecas tracker once on a saturday, and then on sunday back in july with in process and meds received....the most comical part that we have since come to find out....our PPR was from LA on June 30....

We got a more up to date PPR on Aug 16th after our MP inquired on the account with that information, and just today ecas updated to Decision Made...

We received PPR without an AOR, but we were changed to "in process" a week earlier.

Not to worry, I am 45 minutes away from Buffalo and the weather has been nothing short of pleasant! They have no excuses - because of Irene at least!

Here's to a new week. Hopefully, we will get lots of good news before the long weekend holiday!

Our 1 year anniversary is in 2 weeks...It is making me said that we've spent our first year as newlyweds apart, and there is still no indication that this process will soon come to an end. Come on Buffalo, people just want to start living their lives!!

My wife's passport has been delivered to immigration in Fort Erie! Now we just need to wait for them to attach the visa inside and mail it back. I hope that it makes it back to us before our anniversary on the 22nd!

I disagree that AOR is just what e-CAS shows about your application being received and agree that it is the message, whether emailed or regular mailed, from the VO saying it received your application (and including the file number). The reason is because I have not heard of anyone not getting an e-cas update about their application being "received" at some point, but as we all know plenty of people don't get the message sent from the VO. And anyway, remember that CIC always says that e-cas does not represent outland applications, only inland ones (whatever that means ::) ). In your case, you should attempt the "forced AOR" which is basically them sending it to you when you email them. That's what I (and lots of other people) got.

Well one thing I have to say is Los Angeles is right on the ball with all of this....File was transferred at some point, supposedly issued the PPR June 30, reissued on Aug 16th, and then we sent the Passport last monday via ups and got it back today with all our photos and some of the original documents....

Lets hope all offices get there a$$es moving this week!!!

I've now been living in Canada under a visitor visa for nearly 3 months waiting from my PPR. My app was sent in Late December and received by Buffalo on Feb 2rd. Never though I'd still be waiting. At this point my insurance from my last job has run out and I'm reading that I won't be eligible for OHIP for 3 month after I get my PPR. This is very worrisome. I'm generally a healthy person but anything can happen in 3 or 6 months. I've read that inland applicant don't have the same waiting period. But I don't know if there is anything I can do at this point. Starting to get really down about this. Any advice?

Inland applicants have a much longer waiting period and cannot appeal in case they are denied. What kinds of communications have you gotten from CIC so far?
