Greetings all -

I know the wait is excruciating, and I know it's hard to hear about people who are finally moving through (at least it was for me), but I thought I could share my own experience landing today and perhaps it will be helpful for someone else, as a few points stressed me - so if I can help alleviate that stress for someone else, that would be nice.

As I'm already living in Canada while in law school, I drove from the Toronto area today to Buffalo to pick up my visa. I arrived at 8:15, submitted my paperwork by 8:30 (the two photographs, my height/eye colour word document, and a copy of my PPR request e-mail), and then waited... and waited... and waited... I was called up at 11:30. They asked me to check to make sure everything printed was correct before leaving. It was, so I left. I mentioned I would be landing the same day, and was not instructed to wait any amount of time, but I did hang around for three hours as others have mentioned they did the same.

At 2:45, I crossed at Rainbow Bridge (barely any traffic!) in Niagara Falls.

So just to confirm for a thickie - you recieved your ppr via email, drove to Buffalo, and submitted it by hand and got it back a few hours later, came back and landed???? If so thats awesome - my meds are coming incredibly close to running out - so if by some minor miracle I did get ppr then this might be an option to get 'er done in a couple of days (ie as i'm in Alberta, recieve ppr fly into Buffalo get passport with visa in it sorted and then land the next day on the way in)

<note to add I do ot in any way shape or form expect a ppr anytime soon tbh but one can always dream>

Yes - you can do that. Buffalo issues visas in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You have to be there very early in the morning (by 8am). So you would want to fly into Buffalo a day earlier and stay overnight before heading to the consulate.

Wow thank you very much for the speedy reply

<heads off and checks cost of flights to Buffalo just in case! ;) >

Ok, ecas is just being weird now.

Just got an e-mail. The applicant's info is still the same, but the sponsor login now shows TWO sponsorship applications.

The first one has Decision Made for the Sponsorship, with the PR Application in process. That hasn't changed.

The second one now shows a "In process" for the sponsorship, with the date received being the day Buffalo received the PR app. The "in process" date is the date Buffalo created the file for the applicant. The PR application is also "in process" and shows the same info as the first one.

I had the same Idea moochops.Im In Alberta also and was thinking of flying to Buffalo when the time came.

Got an e-CAS tracker update this morning. Checked to see if it was actually valid, address still missing but I have been updated from “application received” to “In Process” and even the glorious “Medical Results Received.”

Something is surely up in Buffalo!

Yup just checked mine and it is exactly the same as yours - 2 applications showing, the first one with all the correct details and the second one showing that the application for sponsorship was recieved on the 22nd August ( :o) ) and the and the application for pr showing as "application recieved" on August the 9th.

My ecas seems to be accumulating some dust...same as my application! :(
Hadn't heard from BUF till my husband (sponsor) emailed them about 2 weeks ago. Response received
was a generic one...'your application is in process'...which I find hard to believe as we haven't even received an AOR email/snail mail. I have no B or F #. I can only log onto ecas using my husbands info. The only info I see under the permanent residence section is 'We received xxxx application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011.'

So now, wishful thinking...Has anyone gone straight to PPR w/o receiving AOR and/or In process?

I actualy asked that question myself on here and was informed that there has been people get there residency and still say application recieved on ecas.I was curious because mine still says app recieved.

Mine still says application received although it has said medicals received since early on...when I emailed them they said it was in process and gave me a file# (both f and b)...

hoping buffalo has a strong week this week and we all get our PPRs!

Congrats mmshock and doctorkb....looks real promising that PPRs will arrive soon enough.
