Maybe her boss told her to shut you down?

No idea. This assistant specifically handles immigration issues. We did NOT barrage her with demands or anything. We met with her once, during one of their "immigration information clinic" sessions, which is open to ANYONE in the constituency, and instead of specifically asking for help on our own file, we focused on trying to bring the seemingly skipped months of applications to her attention, which she seemed incredibly interested in and concerned about at the time. (and I do see that some applications are creeping along again for some people, albeit randomly) We also patiently waited the full 6 weeks she asked before emailing her to see if she heard anything.

The MP herself is a former immigration minister, so I would hope we weren't just getting shut down... If anyone would understand delays in immigration offices and possible explanation, I thought she would...

With attitude like that from the assistant I'd make it very clear the votes will go elsewhere.

francohoosier...it might be possible that applications for Quebec get transferred to satellite offices, I have seen 2-3 applications going that way. I might be wrong, it might just be that my file has been transferred too, haha

I got a duplicate email response from Buffalo today with less information, but re-confirming my application's transfer to NYC. Strange.

Well got a response from Buffalo today, our file was transferred to LA and we were told to contact them????

Hopefully it's good news for you... we got an update on E-cas today... I'll repost what I put in the March thread:

Well it's no PPR but... we just got an e-cas update:

"We started processing xxx (My wonderful husband)xxx application on August 2, 2011."

I find it interesting since we just e-mailed them our CAIPS notes request this morning... Hopefully we'll hear something more soon.

I know it's not much but really... at least it's an indication that SOMETHING is happening with our file

We got our file number well over a month ago, but it says it wasn't in process until August 2... oh well... at least it's been looked at for over a week now :)

Ours showed in process for over a month now, and when I emailed them this week well yanno the response, hopefully this will speed things up

I think it's a good sign that it's been transfered to LA, it should be processed faster.

Well, we heard from our MP's assistant a few days ago. According to the inquiry she did on our behalf, two things stand out... *Background checks have not been initiated, and *Officer has not reviewed this file for a selection decision. I'm assuming this means I'm not even in process yet.

She also had less than kind things to say about the spreadsheet and this site in general. For example (directly quoted from email): "I question the expertise of anyone associated with the forum you shared with me..." and "I fail to see how desperate and annoyed people can possibly offer each other any support..." Essentially summing it all up with we're all just selfish whiners and need to get over ourselves.

This from someone who initially seemed incredibly helpful and interested in the December thru February debacle.

I'm so far beyond irritated now that I *almost* don't give a rat's hairy derriere what happens next. Ugh.

Just out of curiousity what is the meaning of the application not reviewed yet? Those it mean it's in process or not? I'm still confused....

:o :P I just received a letter from immigration saying that the interview has been waived and requesting FBI clearance for my NON ACCOMPANYING son who is on active duty with the US Army! I sent them an email quoting their own application packet which states that non-accompanying family members do not have to submit FBI clearance!
Hopefully I will hear back with a PASSPORT REQUEST!!!!!

This letter has been sitting in Houston since July 22nd and only got forwarded to me today!!! Canada Post SUCKS!!!!

This is really an awesome news wishing you all the best!! Hope you get a positive response bcos I think the request for your non-accompany child was not necessary but i will suggest you kind of do it to avoid unneccessary delay. Congratulations once again.

I would love to just do it except HE JUST STARTED BASIC TRAINING! I cannot contact him, or get finger prints from him until October. They want it by Sept 20th! These stupid people are going to be the death of me!!!

Here is the message I got from the Coprorate affairs for CIC in Ottawa when she sent me my info for requesting our CAIPS notes:

"Following our conversation, here are the forms needed to make an access to information request. Once completed, please submit your request to atip-aiprp@cic.gc.ca."

Attached to the email was the credit card form for the $5.00 and also the form to fill out for the CAIPS notes. Since my husband is requesting it himself we did not need the form for him to authorize me to request them.

Anyway... that's the e-mail addy up there... I was pretty excited to be able to just e-mail the forms to them.

Edit: For some reason it's putting extra spaces in the e-mail address... you'll want to take them out when you send your e-mail.

Buffalo-Toronto, I never got an AOR by email or anything. It was their email response to me asking for my file # to send in my husbands birth certificate since we didnt have it yet to submit it with the original application, then they responded just with the F and B #

Hey Tiggilicious..my timeline is very similar to yours...applied a few days after you...hoping to hear something soon. Except for when I received the first AOR it said application was sent to London England.

Anyways when I log in with the file number it says:

"We received your application for permanent residence on March 9, 2011.

Medical results have been received."

Does yours say that it was received in Buffalo? Or just that it was received...I did email Buffalo and they gave me a B# and F# so I guess it was forwarded to Buffalo from London....I must have lost time though :(

It also only says "Application Received"
