Well tell me about it.... i Have Application receive in January 19th....
Last news i had was April 19th when i was told that our file was transferred to NYC.
Since then no news ! CAIPS notes only show that a file was created with nothing started.....

Same here. Mine still says "application received" and we've received no AOR, no e-mail, nothing. Immigration Quebec said the Visa Office or CIC should send me an acknowledgment that they received the CSQ, but I haven't gotten that either.

After reading and seeing that many of us are in the same boat, I guess this lack of information is just the "new normal". It's really unnerving because you imagine all sorts of things that may have gone wrong. I guess maybe we'll all just have to try to remember that old saying...."no news is good news". I hope it applies here!

I received the email today from buffalo requesting my passport....wooohooo ;D my wife and I are going to drive down there next tues or thurs and have my visa attached ....... two weeks ago I was told it was going to be March 2012 .
I am so relieved finally I can start to live a normal life and come home to my lovely wife every day..

Congratulations sawdust !
That's great news.

Could you please give us your exact timeline, as in when you applied, when your file transfered to Buffalo ? It would be very useful for all of us waiting to get an idea which files are they working on. As you know we maintain a spreadsheet, and I would love to add your experience in there.

Is anyone able to confirm or deny that requesting Ottawa to send your medical exam to Buffalo speeds up the process? I recall reading in another thread that getting the medical exam from Ottawa is one of the things that really holds up the process. Thoughts?

Thanks to you all for your contributions to this helpful forum!

No, this won't help. Ottawa send the medical results when the VO requests them. They are sent electronically and the speed in which they are sent is dependent upon how long it takes the DMP to send them to Ottawa, Ottawa to review and process and the VO to make the request.

Rjeesome....you might know why such lack of communication from Buffalo? I think Puzzle was called and told the application is in process but thats it, noone else knows anything and its been 4 months for Feb. guys and no AOR also.

Best guess would be huge backlog in Buffalo. 4 months is well within average processing times. I've heard of others recently not receiving AOR letter either but their files were processed. A "lack of communication" is normal.

True, lets hope for the best

Hi friends my wife received correspondence from Buffalo. IA is completed no interview, they need original copy of police report by August 20 letter was dated May 23 which was also the date ecas was updated to in process. Our attorney emailed buffalo stating that it was sent with the application to mississauga.

Hello,

Just wanted to say hi and join in on the fun. I'm waiting for my sponsor to be approved, and it has been 40 days. Hope nothing is wrong...

Have a great day.

I have my fingers crossed for June 10 that week, when they eliminate the backlog:)

That's for the TRV backlog, not PR applications. But it should free them up to get back to a more normal flow.

Well, I emailed buffalo, and they responded to me with the following:

We have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.

I received my IA which said no documents were required, and medical received, and the receipt had been paid. I wonder is this standard procedure, my fbi clearance was good. I did a study abroad for 3 months in college in an African country. I wonder who/what they are doing exactly.

Does anyone know if this is commonplace?
