Sparkle,

When you e-mailed Buffalo did you have a case specific e-mail address? I only have the e-mail address for general questions. I've e-mailed them a few times with questions and have gotten no response other than a generic reply stating they received my e-mail. I have a question concerning our medicals, too and I am not sure where to send the e-mail. Wouldn't mind finding out my status as well. Thanks :)

I've used this email address - buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

I've emailed them before and they did respond. Are you putting your File # OR Kit ID # in the subject line ? You should do that for sure, because they've specifically noted that we should state our file reference # as the subject.

It is listed on the Buffalo website:

The Visa Section of the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo will be closed to all walk-in temporary resident service from Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10 2011.

This closure is necessary to enable us to deal with an unprecedentedly large inventory of mail-in applications that have pushed our processing times for such applications to record lengths. Our goal is to use this time to eliminate this backlog completely.

We will still be accepting mail-in applications during that time. We will also continue to provide service to persons appearing to collect their Permanent Resident Visas on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and persons whose Permanent Resident interviews are scheduled for that week in Buffalo.

Perhaps some good news for the Buffalo Apps who have been waiting sometime!

That is the same e-mail I've been using, Sparkle. I have been putting our Client ID# in the e-mail, but still getting no responses (don't have a File# yet). I know they're getting my e-mails because I get the "e-mail accepted" reply everytime. I also check my spam folder to make sure nothing from the CIC is in there. I guess I'll just keep trying. Thanks Sparkle.

Ive heard some people think this is to help clear the back log of Temporary REsident visa's , so hopefully they squeeze in family class ones too!

I'm hoping that since a couple people got "in process" before the weekend, we will see a lot more this week and leading up to the shut down... But who knows. As always, the CIC is consistently inconsistent! ::)

hello every one! i just came across something, now that i am ready to send app in >:(...it seems as if i need a state police certificate as well as an FBI certificate..am i misreading that??

I'm pretty sure that you don't necessarily need a state clearance. You do need the FBI one. They may request a state clearance at a later point in time. I sent them both with my application at the start just to avoid any unnecessary delays, but your application is perfectly complete with just the FBI clearance.

Have a question dont know if its been asked already but its this.. How long does it usually take for passport request after AOR

There really isn't a "usually", and less so recently. Buffalo has really slowed down. But, for the most recent processing times, you can look in the link on Sparkle's foot note (she posted just a few posts up). It contains a lot of the Buffalo information.

I received sponsor approval on my end April 20 and hVr not yet heard from buffalo to confirm it's arrival. A few applications that recieved sponsor approval that same day as I have already recieved notice that theirs has arrived in Buffalo may 5th in the March Application thread. Should I be worried???

Sponsorship application - decision made
PR application - not available

I've called CIC and they said once it's been sent to Buffalo that can't help me and forwarded to me buffalo's info (website). Ive emailed them either early last week or two weeks ago but no answer.

No updates, no PPR, NO AOR. How many applications does Buffalo have that they are taking this much time to process applications??

Its getting slower and slower day by day.
