scylla...thank you very much. I was hoping the 11 months was not the average.

As it stands, it seems like its going to be a while now, since people who have applied for sponsorship in late December are starting to be in process in Buffalo now (sitting on their desks for a few months before its touched), since they have just changed their computer system over. Its been 3.5 months since Mississauga received our application, and Buffalo still hasnt began working on it.

Hopefully they pick up soon!

I really hope so

Too true. ::) We've only had two PPR's in the December group (out of 20). I hope they get this worked out soon, and start getting through the applications.

Has anyone been approved as a sponsor, but then have their spouse get denied PR because they don't think their sponsor can provide for them? I'm pretty worried about this. =/

I will be heading to Buffalo today to take my passport tomorrow to their office. Will be waiting a week or so to land. I will come back and post how it all goes....

I am so surprised it has been so quiet on here as far as PPRs go this last week or so. I hope Buffalo picks up speed again really soon....

Hmmm...

I didn't realize Buffalo had seen a bit of a slow down. That's not good news...

A friend of mine just submitted her paperwork in March. I'll have to update her.

Hi Sparkle,

Under my file, can you update the notes section indicating that the requested police certificate has been forwarded on May 16th and will be received by the VO on May 17th? Also, we got AOR on May 3rd and our status has been "in process" since that date. Thanks so much!

Does anyone know if I am required to declare that I am applying for PR when I cross into Canada with my wife and family to visit?

We are driving to Alberta from Colorado. My family is visiting for two weeks and I am visiting for one week, flying home to Colorado then flying back up to Calgary to drive home with them.

If I don't need to declare anything, then I won't. Just want to do what is obligated of me and my sponsor (wife) and by the book.

Thanks!

Hi Chinook65,

Unless asked, do not to declare your plans for PR, because you might face a lengthy interrogation. As far as I can see, I don't think they will ask you that information if all you are doing is visiting. Carry a recent pay stub and provide return dates/tickets in case they want proof that you will return to the US. Good luck!

Hey !

I will update it asap.

So does your e-cas say "In Process" ? I wonder did they just skip some of the files in middle, especially the ones submitted in Dec, and are probably now going backwards to them :(

im on the same timeline as you, and my ecas says med's recieved. however they have not said anything about additional docs required. or no additional docs required, for that mattter.

Our ecas says "in process". I believe they are working in que, I think our file was pulled, because additional documents were needed. So they probably gave us a head start since getting a police clearance from Africa isn't the easiest thing to do. Especially, when they instruct you to go in person to do this.
