Looks great. :) Thank you for doing that. This will be very helpful for us all! (And safe, too! hehe)

Haha..thanks.

Do you think I should make it available to be edited by anyone ?? Or keep it this way...?
Hopefully people will update us and I'll enter it in spreadsheet at the earliest. The spreadsheet can be thus available all times and hopefully no one can accidently erase something !

Great idea to keep us in contact!!

I guess if people wanted to update themselves it would be good but I'm a klutz thats not too handy with computers soI would hate if I deleted something :(

It's probably best to keep it so only you can update it, or you and a select few who can help you. I don't think anyone would intentionally do anything to damage it, but accidents do happen. hehe I have about 4 copies of the December spreadsheet for that very reason. ;)

My dates in that table are incorrect (enter an "app sent" date and shift everything else one column to the right):

App sent: (Not sure of the exact date my consultant sent it, but likely October 7, 2010)
App received: October 12, 2010 (thank you Thanksgiving weekend)
Sponsorship approval, file transferred: November 9, 2010
In Process: December 6, 2010
AOR: December 14, 2010

In the spreadsheet, my "App transferred to Buffalo" should be my sponsorship approval date but isn't. That needs to be entered and then the rest shifted one column. It looks like the other October Buffalo applicants info is incorrect by 1 column too. Probably because the October thread doesn't keep track of "App sent", just "App filed/received".

Hehe...good idea ;)

I can share it with people either as this link, or allow certain people to edit by adding their gmail addresses..which I guess gets more complicated. I will try to keep it this way so I can update it. Will try to update at the earliest... and you're definitely gonna be my mentor for that ;)

Looking forward to the December update tomorrow ! :)

What do you guys mean by "file transferred"?
Is it when the file has been released from mississauga ( sponsor approval date)
OR
Is it when the file has been received by Buffalo?

And if its the latter, then do u receive an email stating that file is now received by Buffalo?

I have updated your info. Since all the threads have inconsistent format, and quakingaspen managed to get the closest details for it....I just have one column for application filed, which really is the date you sent your application. I don't think it matters that much, as it's just the 1-4 days of delay here and there. As long as everyone's okay with this kind of format, we'll have it this way for now, and see in future if it makes sense to add the column for app received.

The File Transfer is when your file is sent from Mississauga to Buffalo. The email (or letter, or eCAS update, or whatever) that tells you your file has been received by Buffalo is called an AOR - Aknowledgement of Receipt.

It's totally fine :). Since my own situation was a bit weird (they definitely received it by October 8 but eCAS always claimed it was received October 12), I chose to keep my own "app filed" date to something more accurate of when they actually started processing it. But a few days off here and there for app filed dates won't affect much. My concern was only that it made the rest of our dates (the more relevant ones) inaccurate, but you fixed that super quick.

Good job on the spreadsheet, btw :). Apologies if my first post sounded like, "No, you're doing it wrong!" I really shouldn't post when I'm still half-asleep.

Not at all !!

Infact I just added the column, was a good suggestion, coz sometimes people would like to see the exact timelines, and it didnt take me long at all

Please do keep the suggestions coming in !!

It just occurred to me: what are your plans for the Notes column? I know usually people would put the details of their case there if they wanted, but since you're the only one editing the spreadsheet... perhaps replace Notes with Landed, for when people finally land?

I don't personally place a lot of weight on people's landed dates, since everyone lands differently: some right away, some later, some send their passport off for the visa, some hand it in themselves. But I've noticed some people watch that kind of thing too.
