Well, we finally did it.... my husband and I finished packing up our lives in Michigan and drove our Uhaul from Michigan through Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota, finally arriving at the border of North Dakota and Saskatchewan where my husband landed first thing on Tuesday morning. We drove away from the border and right in to the FREAKIN blizzard that hit the mid west. After nearly dumping our SUV in to the ditch along with the Uhaul we were pulling we had to turn around and get a hotel room for the night in Saskatoon. We left there this morning, worried that we werent going to get very far because the roads were very icy. BUT WE MADE IT... we arrived in Edmonton early this evening, got the Uhaul unpacked, reunited my husband with the daughter and the dog... and now we are ready to continue our marriage here in Canada... just in time to celebrate our 12th anniversary on the 30th...
:D

Ahhhh, multi-state road trip, blizzard, border crossing with uhaul...it all brings back such fond (yet in those moments stressful) memories. The same thing happened to me except the uhaul was a truck and the blizzard (complete with interstate closing) was in Pennsylvania. That was one huge storm you drove through! Glad you made it home safely. Allison

I am soooooo happy for you and advanced happy anniversary!

Thanks everyone.. we are just happy that it is finally done!

Hello my fellow Buffalo applicants! I'm not sure I belong on this thread anymore since I got an email from Buffalo CIC notifying me that they've transferred my file to Los Angeles! Hopefully this will expedite the process! :)

<<<<Cross post from July.>>>

I though I had finally figure out why I wasn't hearing back froM Buffalo - Nor getting a bounce back from my email.

There is a "re" in the front of their email address when they reply.. I emailed a minute ago and got an immediate reply to one of my previous emails - but it was not helpful. It just said the same thing essentially.

"As indicated in our previous reply, your message has been forwarded to the processing team."

I am going to take that as I don't need to get a new FBI Certificate then.... .and pray that is the case.
And they don't slow down my case for emailing again. Forwarding to processing team doesn't really help me... or I guess I can just assume they will let me know again, if I need it. Blech!

no one seem to have gotten ppr this week... surprising

As depressing as it can seem...keep in mind that just bc no one on this forum got a PPR this week it doesn't mean NO ONE got a PPR this week. There are TONS of people who send apps for PR...they're not all on this forum. I tell myself this to maintain sanity! Now off to check e-cas... ;)

Well i take it that we usually have 1 or 2 persons in this thread that does receive ppr every week. So a week with none is surprising if you understand what i mean. That does not mean no one got it it's just that we got no lucky people this week here

I thought the same thing. It was very dissapointing to see that not one person received a PPR this week. :(

HELP!!!

I got a letter in the mail that was dated Sept 23rd (they sent to an old address the first time) they resent it again this week Oct 21st saying that as of right now my interview has been waived but also that I need to take a medical exam which I did May 13th, do you think the Dr office here in Ottawa has screwed me over? They told me they sent my exam to Buffalo even though I didn't apply for a month after and buffalo didnt start processing for 3 months after I took the exam, does anybody know anything on this issue?

Thanks

That doesn't sound good. I have read of some people contacting Ottawa to see about their medicals being requested/ sent to Buffalo, but I don't remember specifics.

I would follow up with the DMP you went to. The exams are suppossed to be sent to Ottawa and then Buffalo (or other visa office) requests them when needed.

As for the timing that should've be an issue. My husband had his medical exam on May 25 and we didn't mail the application until August and then Buffalo didn't even start processing until the end of September (so over 4 months later).

Thanks,

I just tried to call the DMP that I went to and it just keeps ringing so I even checked the Designated Medical on cic.gc.ca website and they are not even listed anymore, so I guess I will keep looking for a new number

how do u know urs is in background check?

and a MP is like a governor or mayor of ur city i just googled and searched my husbands

I don't know what stage my application is in. I am just assuming that there is something that's holding them back, and I think it's because we applied as conjugal partners. I have a clean background, because I've never been in trouble with the law. I have no credit history, (since I am only 20 years old). And just a lot of little things that I kind of worry about affecting the process.
