Congrats tigerpika!

I emailed Buffalo on Friday - and am still waiting to hear something.

My husband's e-cas has been updated as well....

We started processing your application on August 27, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

You entered Canada at the Niagara Falls Queenston-Lewiston Bridge office on October 14, 2010 and became a Permanent Resident.

YAY!

For those who mailed in their passport (and are still reading this forum)...

How long did it take you to get your passport back from Buffalo?

I'm currently staying with my spouse in Ontario, about 5 hours away by car, but going in person isn't really feasible, since I have a 4 month old. Flying just isn't in the budget right now.

My concern is that I'm going back to the States on November 18th, so I'd need my passport back by then in order to cross the border. If I get the PPR this week (which seems possible, now that e-cas has been changed to 'Decision Made'), will I be able to send my passport in and get in back in enough time to make my trip in November?

I got mine back in 6 business days. I mailed it express mail from Oregon with a prepaid return express envelope and had it back super fast!

i am getting very pissed off now what the heck.. there is no fairness in this whole process... it started with Mississauga that took 2 months for us while everyone else got accepted in 2 and getting lied on the phone it was impossible and now it's taking forever and you keep on seeing people way after we started process in Buffalo that receive their ppr.... pisses me off

yes i need to vent because many people are are really lucky not to wait that long

Wow Jancath410 congrats! Thats pretty and lucky! Sorry to saugaboss and others that must be frustrating but hang in there!

Sorry Dralon :-[ I really hope that yours gets resolved soon. It's really not a fair process. You will get through this. I know for me, reading all the ppr's coming through before mine was really frustrating. Try to get away from the forum for a day or so. Or maybe limit the amount that you're on here. There was a point where I think it got to be unhealthy for me to be on the forum because of how upset it was making me to see people with processing times at 2-3 months. But perhaps the forum helps you. I don't know how it is for you, but it helped me to step away for a while. I know that 6 and 1/2 months was hard for me.... I can only imagine what you must be going through with having to wait since Feb. With much respect, LJ

Hi All,

Oye! I am in the same manic mode ... CONGRATS to those who received PPR's this week. The other half of this saga story are those of us who didn't get a PPR.

I didn't get one and I am quite upset. I know I know, I'm only at 3 months, but I feel like my case is falling further away from a speedy Buffalo request.

Worse, I called the lawyer yesterday, just to confirm status and make an inquiry on my behalf. The response left me, surprise, feeling awful about the process. The legal officer said, "since you're applying under Family Class, it's only your genuine marriage that matters." Well, of course a cut and dry easy case with a super legitimate marriage goes into the slow pile. Yup, I submitted an original notarized copy of the marriage certificate, perfect details of the wedding (names, ages, relationships of extended families, phone number of the venue and justice of the peace), and 50 labeled photographs of our wedding, 1-year marriage, and 5 year prior relationship. Oh, we have no kids, no dependents, no criminal records, lived in the same place my whole life, prepaid all fees, and pre-completed medicals.

Sounds like a tough one...but they keep racking up the months!

What does it take to get through this!?

Oh, and when I do get to visit Buffalo, wait when did Buffalo EVER sound like a rewarding destination!? Yikes! Anyway, I'm celebrating over a well deserved cocktail at the most dive-of-a-bar immediately following! Whoever else is present that day .... and who becomes eligible to land in Canada, is of course invited too!

Establishment suggestions?

:)

Hello all, as I haven't received anything!!! I thought I would find something else to dwell on. I am totally confused as to how I am going to send my passports from Bermuda to Buffalo and for Buffalo to send them back to me. I don't want to use regular mail. Their website says they don't accept Fedex, UPS, DHL etc. and they only have instructions for sending passports to/from addresses in the USA and to/from addresses in Canada. I thought, okay, I will have my sister-in-law purchase the Canada Post Express envelopes for me and send them to me in Bermuda. I would then send my passport to Buffalo by Federal Express and include the Canada Post envelope with my sister-in-laws adress in Canada. She would then have to send it back to me. Then I just went a little nuts and thought "how is this going to work out?". Now I am my old self again - frantic! LOL :-\

Can anyone else tell me how they handled the passport situation?

Thanks and best,
Nell
