Hi All,
Oye! I am in the same manic mode ... CONGRATS to those who received PPR's this week. The other half of this saga story are those of us who didn't get a PPR.
I didn't get one and I am quite upset. I know I know, I'm only at 3 months, but I feel like my case is falling further away from a speedy Buffalo request.
Worse, I called the lawyer yesterday, just to confirm status and make an inquiry on my behalf. The response left me, surprise, feeling awful about the process. The legal officer said, "since you're applying under Family Class, it's only your genuine marriage that matters." Well, of course a cut and dry easy case with a super legitimate marriage goes into the slow pile. Yup, I submitted an original notarized copy of the marriage certificate, perfect details of the wedding (names, ages, relationships of extended families, phone number of the venue and justice of the peace), and 50 labeled photographs of our wedding, 1-year marriage, and 5 year prior relationship. Oh, we have no kids, no dependents, no criminal records, lived in the same place my whole life, prepaid all fees, and pre-completed medicals.
Sounds like a tough one...but they keep racking up the months!
What does it take to get through this!?
Oh, and when I do get to visit Buffalo, wait when did Buffalo EVER sound like a rewarding destination!? Yikes! Anyway,
I'm celebrating over a well deserved cocktail at the most dive-of-a-bar immediately following! Whoever else is present that day .... and who becomes eligible to land in Canada, is of course invited too!
Establishment suggestions?
