I'm so sorry, can_usa_97 -- it really does seem painfully random. It could even be something as ridiculous as a really lazy agent working on your case.

I immigrated to the US to be with my husband 3 years ago, and it was a total nightmare (a thousand times worse than this process, if you can believe it) -- several thousand dollars over 2 years, 3-4 rounds of fingerprints, 2 interviews at the consulate in Montreal, etc..., and during, I, literally, went an entire year without ANY movement on my extremely straight-forward application. And, since we decided we'd be happier in Canada, it all turned out to be a complete waste of time/money/stress! (Although, it has been nice to finally share an address with my husband of 6 years.)

I'm rootin' for ya, can_usa_97!!

Thanks, I am truely happy for the people who have gotten theirs, it just makes it hard to wonder what/why and think something is wrong.

Oh yeah, it's a crazy process this way too (my husband came here 13 years ago this December, and it was easier then in that he could just come here, then apply) and I am at least with my husband all these years. We too are now flipping as our family here has just depleted and we have supportive family there - it's a crazy process!

I've never been good at waiting ;)

Hmmm... they might not take too kindly to that. Now, I suppose if you're able to forge documents in Canada, and get sent to prison within (as opposed to being deported), then I'd say you've successfully immigrated, at least until your sentence is up! :D

Bahaha! Funny. Oh well, may

Oops, sorry, my laptop has a mind of it's own sometimes. What I meant was, oh well. It will happen when it happens. Whenever that will be :P

DOH! This waiting is making me crazy.

AAAHH!! I just signed onto e-cas, not really expecting any change, and it says "Decision Made!"

Fingers crossed that the PPR is close behind!

Woohoo! Here's hoping others also get some news today!

YAY

For those who mailed in their passport (and are still reading this forum)...

How long did it take you to get your passport back from Buffalo?

I'm currently staying with my spouse in Ontario, about 5 hours away by car, but going in person isn't really feasible, since I have a 4 month old. Flying just isn't in the budget right now.

My concern is that I'm going back to the States on November 18th, so I'd need my passport back by then in order to cross the border. If I get the PPR this week (which seems possible, now that e-cas has been changed to 'Decision Made'), will I be able to send my passport in and get in back in enough time to make my trip in November?

Congrats CaraPK!

I've kind of given up on checking my e-cas. I'm just going to wait for an email or letting in the mail. I check it very seldom these days...only because I think I may have got obsessive over it...come on three times a day?! LOL. ;)

My husband mailed his from WI on a Friday and got his Passport back with the Visa and COPR on the following Saturday - 8 days total.
