For those people who are waiting for their PPR while "visiting" Canada, did you have a way so that your mails are forwarded to a Canadian address by UPS?

You can give USPS a change of address and they will forward your mail, but it has to go to your old address and then get forwarded, so it will take longer. Also, to change your address to a Canadian one, you have to go to a U.S. post office in person with a change of address card. Their online system is not set up to accept an address from outside the country.

Here is the spreadsheet to view everyone's time line for Buffalo... Please let me know of any changes ill update it for us if that's ok with everyone :) I think its easier to click the link than pasting the table in the forum it can get really confusing.

Nice spreadsheet!

Nice spreadsheet, indeed! However, one small correction in my own timeline - 07/13/10 was the date we had the medicals done. Our application is not yet 'in process' having just arrived in Buffalo around 2 weeks ago (although a girl can hope!!).

no it does not matter the reason, just tell them you need to update the address.

We have not gotten an AOR yet but on e-cas we are "In Process" do you think I can send an e-mail and they should be able change it or wait for AOR first? Thanks!

SaugaBoss....Great job on the spreadsheet!

When did it change to in process on e-cas? I think you have to wait for the AOR because that's when you get the B number assigned with the barcode stickers.

What is the "B" sticker for? Do I need to quote that on my e-mail when I request them to change the mailing address?

Thanks SaugaBoss!! Great job!!

its the number that buffalo assigns the cases at their office. You definitely need to use it when emailing or contacting buffalo in any way!

I strongly suggest that you go in person. If I were you there is no way I would put my passport in the mail with a trip in the near future. The office is only open to the public from 8 until 11 (or 1, I can't remember exactly) so they have plenty of time left in the workday to get you processed and out. I can not imagine what extremely rare circumstance it would be if they did not give you your passport back that day.

I took my passport in person. I suggest you plan to be at the office before it opens (like 7-7:15 am). There will most likely already be a line forming in the lobby. The guard will ask why you are here and check your passport. He will escort about 10 people up at a time. When you get there, they will ask for your cell phones and tell you which window to line up at (depending on your purpose). When it`s your turn you will submit your passport, pics, and PPR letter. I think they asked some questions too. Then you are sent to the waiting room to, you guessed it, wait. It takes about 2 hours. Meanwhile, you can watch people going in for interviews, read a book, etc. After about 2 hours they start calling several people to one room. You line up and they give you back your passport and some papers explaining SIN, health card, etc. Then they tell you to wait a few hours before attempting to cross the border while the computers are being updated.

Go to lunch, do some shopping, head to the border and land. That's it. Landing takes about 15 minutes if there is no wait. They take your papers, passport, etc ask some questions, confirm your name, contact info etc, do some stuff in the computer. Then you are off to customs to declare any goods to import, and then you are DONE except for coming back here to report your experience.

I think you have a lot less worry about if you go in person. Congratulations. Allison

We've made all the necessary changes to our travel plans to get a couple extra days and go to Buffalo. Allison, what kinds of questions did they ask when you got your passport?
Thanks!

I want my PPR :'(...........I am so so so so disappointed of this wait and wait .............. :'( it's so hardddddddddddddddddddddddddd
