It's probably just an alignment problem in the chart but here is our timeline:

Application submitted CPC-M: April 15/2010
Sponsorship Approval/File Xfer to B'lo: May 25/2010
AOR/In Process B'lo: July 22/2010 (letter dated July 14/2010)
PPR: August 26/2010 (e-cas updated to "decision made" August 16/2010)
No notice of "interview waived" recieved.

CeeGee - I don't think you should be worried. The problems I have had others have had are just flukes and are case-specific. The satellite offices are supposed to be able to handle the application just as well as Buffalo and it is actually supposed to make things faster. Weird things happen sometimes but they do in Buffalo sometimes as well. There have been plenty of cases where the satellite office processes someones app quickly and with no issues. It just depends on the specific case/IO as always.

It's probably just an alignment problem in the chart for me too. My second date should be under PPR. I'm really impressed though that you've been keeping track of all of us. Cool!

Hi CeeGee, they tend to transfer files based on where you checked off your preferred site of interview. Remember that in the application? I thought it was odd seeing as most interviews are in Buffalo, but I guess that's the reason why they ask. Did you check off Detroit for that?

We still haven't sent in our application :'( Buffalo would be my preferred site for an interview, but it's not one of the choices. Any idea why that is? It would be much easier for us to get to Buffalo than to New York or Detroit.

BeShoo, most people still get processed and interviewed in Buffalo. They would only send it elsewhere if Buffalo got too crowded, so choose one of the other cities as an alternative. Buffalo will still be the default. I chose NYC because I might as well see some sights if I have to interview somewhere besides Buffalo :)

Thanks for resolving that. I've asked before and didn't get a useful answer. While I wouldn't object to a sightseeing trip to NYC (I've already thought about that "advantage"), I'd still rather drive to Buffalo, since NYC might require flying (more expensive). Also, I'm not sure that NYC sightseeing is really in our budget at the moment.

Hm interesting. Does that mean that if I hadn't of gotten transferred to LA, I might have had to interview in Buffalo? That would really stink. It's so far!

the alignment is definitely the issue... i will fix it tomorrow at work :) there's more buffalo people than i thought!

Only One Page Avail in Passport for Permanent Residency Processing

Hiya!

So Buffalo has asked us to send my husband's passport to them -- however, we are now for the first time seeing that they need 2 empty passport pages -- and he only has one. Should he send it along anyway -- or will it be returned and delay the process further -- ?! (We have emailed Buffalo and are waiting to hear back -- but you never know how long they will take ....)

Thanks!

For those people who are waiting for their PPR while "visiting" Canada, did you have a way so that your mails are forwarded to a Canadian address by UPS?

I would just update my address with buffalo by sending a case specific inquiry by e-mail. I am "visiting" in Canada so I simply put my legal address and the one in the U.S. and the mailing one as the one in Canada. This way I do not miss any mail.

Do we need to let them know why we are doing this? Let them know my husband is "visiting" Canada?

no it does not matter the reason, just tell them you need to update the address.

Is there anyway I can contact CIC-Buffalo? I still have my FBI certificate to mail but have not heard from the office yet. My husband e-mailed them and the auto-reply said to contact them if we do not hear anything from them in *30* weeks!!!

Phone number or e-mail address (site) will be helpful. Thanks!~~

Hold on to it until you get your stickers. They lost my husbands that we sent to them before the stickers arrived :(
I could just cry.

Hello All! I would just like to be added to the chart. I am one of you, a Buffalo applicant. My file was transferred to Buffalo on June 18th and has been in process since August 12th.

Thanks!
