That sucks, giggles! I also don't understand why they are looking into his situation. The impression I have of the process is that they look into his suitability as a sponsor during the sponsorship process and that the part that the US visa offices deals with has to do with the foreign spouse... but I guess that just makes too much sense to work!

Just explain the situation.. I've read a few cases on canlii where the situation of the sponsor not being able to support the spouse came up, but it was in situations with the foreign spouse had little/no education, no English or French, etc.. so I am sure you will be fine!

jancath, I pray for everyone on here too! :)

Yeah that is exactly what I think too. But, whatever, we should know by now that they just make it up as they go along!!!! :P

Yeah.. crying about it doesn't do any good, so might as well laugh about it :D

Wow, so fast! Congrats! You certainly deserve it after the stress of the last week or so!

We were, I think understandably so, worried when our e-Cas changed to "Decision Made" on August 16th when we had only received our AOR from Buffalo on August 6th.

It all worked out in the end.

Thank you again to everyone for your congratulations.

I can hardly believe it myself. I've spent the last week or so preparing myself for the worst. (I guess I'm just a worry-wort at heart)

I expect that since LA does not usually handle these applications they may be a little confused. I would provide what they ask for and include a copy of the Sponsorship Approval for good measure. Perhaps a polite note citing the lack of requirement to meet a minimum income for spousal sponsorship might help as well?

Thanks, Lys. I plan to include the sponsorship approval letter and probably express my confusion. I'll also be detailing that I am extremly financially responsible and capable of caring for myself as I have been for the past 3 years without spousal support. I have a substantial savings and good job history.

BTW Lys, your ap has got to be the fastest in Buffalo history!! Amazing!!! I truly am astounded. Congrats again to you!!

Is your e-case status changed?

Oh God, I want to receive my request, too.

I want mine tooo! Us March and April applicants are still waiting!! :)

Glad to hear about all the PPRs it's making me cheer up again and that we might be soon too!

Prayers are in full effect right now for everybody who is still waiting!! :) Good luck! Don't worry too much!

I guess my husband and I can join in the celebration today too!!

E-cas was updated Aug. 16 to show Decision Made and he recieved an email this morning for his passport request.

It's almost over!! Feels wonderful. He's off getting his photos done now and then off to send in his passport :) We originally thought he would go in person to Buffalo, but he won't be able to finalize everything and get to Buffalo before their deadline so sending in passport and hoping to land in early October.

I hope everyone else is not far behind us. We only went "in process" on July 14, so I'm excited and surprised that it went so fast.

Giggles, I hope everything gets sorted out and you can join the party too :-*

Good luck to everyone else still waiting. Sending positive vibes ;D

Thanks! All the hard work of meticulously putting that application together has paid off!

It changed last week to Decision Made, but there's nothing updated on the status today. I don't expect there'll be another update until Landing.

best of luck!
