Cara, I'm not sure of the answer, but you should at least send an email to Buffalo explaining the situation and asking them what to do next. At least they will know the situation and not just think you are flaking out!

I usually hear from them within a day or a day and a half.

Next week will be the 12th week since my case " in process" .......I am so so so so fustrated............they do not need any other document as per the last communication ...........and I am still nowhere............. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Cherlyn its only been 3 months! I know it probably feels like forever. If they don't need anything extra I'm sure everything will move along in the processing time :)

Cherlyn, we are in almost the exact same position - it helps to know one is not alone!
Buffalo started processing May 25, we got a letter dated June 25 (3mos ago today) saying they didn't need anything else..............and nothing since.
It is a test of patience for us all!

Is anyone else getting fed up with how stupidly slow this process is? Computers are connected via the Internet, why does it take weeks for medicals to go from Ottawa to Buffalo? Why does it take weeks for files to go from Mississauga to Buffalo? Why does Buffalo keep loosing paperwork like FBI clearance letters? Why does it take Buffalo four weeks to reply to emails? I am really hitting the end of my rope with all this.

My wife received an email from Buffalo that was dated the 9th saying they had my FBI letter. On the 14th I got a letter dated the 12th saying they NEEDED my FBI letter. They lost it in three days? Of course I had heard about them loosing FBI letters so last month I sent in for a second letter, but my debit card was compromised. Great. Faxed in a new slip back on July 21st. Called them after two weeks, was told it take two to three weeks for the fax to get matched up to my file. Wait another week, was told the same thing. Called in on Monday, they said that they show they got it, but can't find it. So what they are basically saying is that the Buffalo Office of Canadian Immigration is run by the FBI? Ok, maybe the paper handling is outsourced to the same company. Anyways, there was an email filed to try to find it. Right. So I have 90 days from July 20th before the FBI deletes my file with my fingerprints. It has been 36 already and they don't know where my credit card slip is. Of course Buffalo has no phone number and they are taking forever to answer my emails about what happened to my FBI report. And no updates on ecas.

Ok, I guess I just needed to rant. I am tired of having to be separated from my wife, my little girl and my dog because these people in Buffalo can't find their arses to wipe (or to pull the stick out). >:(

Thanks dhdesigns for trying to encourage me. Yes, is good to know I am not the only one behind.
I really hope we will hear some good news pretty soon..........I am praying for that.............I want to be with my family.......... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Wow, that is quite a story, wmaitner :'( There isn't much else I can say other than you have my sympathies and I hope things are cleared up for you soon.

Did you contact Buffalo to let them know about your delays with the FBI? They may extend your deadline.

I received another e-mail from Buffalo today:

Thank you for your enquiry. Your message has been re-forwarded to the processing team.

As indicated on our website, you can expect a reply within 28 business days. However, we will not respond to your enquiry if the application is within normal processing times.

I think this means they want us to leave them alone. :-X

Geez.. I need to get a job at CIC Buffalo! Seems they're under NO pressure to get anything done or to have any sort of consideration for those of us who have paid over 1000 dollars to go through this process! Sorry Lys..

I am just feeling a bit frustrated.

*begin rant*

I am fully prepared to wait however long it takes to go through this. Don't get me wrong, I would like this over and done with as quickly as possible so that we can get on with the rest of our lives. However I do understand that our cases take time to process.

But having had our status changed to "Decision Made" it is really unconscionable to have us hanging on and fretting about what decision has been made. In this day and age of modern technology why can you tell me that an outcome has been reached without telling me what the outcome is?

*end rant*

Thank you to all for your well wishes and kind words. I do appreciate your responses.

BTW : "normal processing time" ?????? What is normal processing time for Buffalo 4 mos? or 6mos?

Normal processing for Buffalo is 4-10 months.

umm, deadline? The only deadline is having my fingerprints expiring at the FBI. And I REALLY don't want an extension. I want them to figure out what is going on with loosing paperwork and getting their jobs done. Lol!
