Wow. Interviews for US applicants are very unusual. Any reason they might doubt your relationship? Any other issues in your application (e.g., criminality, previous refusals, removals, history as a war criminal, etc.)

It's up to the VO. They may ask you to re-do them, or they may ask the IMS to extend them. Since nothing much can change that would cause you to be refused in them, I'd bet on them extending them - but it's VO's discretion.
i dont know why they requested one.. they asked about the relationship evidence, my sponsor's proof of residence (not DL or Healthcard included) {what else should i include?} and asked for my birth certf., passport
and the letter says me and my sponsor should attend?
but my lawyer says if the sponsor is in canada .he can have a telephonic interview.... he doesnt need to be with me ...have you heard about it?

Ah, good, you have a lawyer.

Well, if you can swing it, I'd make a vacation of it and take your partner. Nothing quite like coming to an interview after you've spent a couple of days together getting some sunshine and nifty southern CA tourist stuff. Or Las Vegas - it's a four hour drive - or Palm Springs (work on that tan - nothing makes them envious back home like that April tan).

From OP 2:

Procedure: Conducting interviews

Officers should interview applicants and their family members only when it is essential to assess an application. Waive interviews whenever possible.

Interviews may help to confirm applicants' identities and relationship to sponsors or other family members. Interviews may also clarify any questions about applicants' admissibility.

Interviews may be conducted at a visa office or any other appropriate location.

Ask applicants to bring any documents necessary for the selection decision.

If a relationship of convenience is suspected, officers may wish to interview applicants (and sponsor where applicable) separately.

In your previous posts you discussed being in a conjugal relationship, but now you discuss proxy marriage. In either case, you should review the section in OP 2 "Processing Members of the Family Class" that discusses both conjugal relationships and marriage evaluation.

In terms of proxy marriage, as long as the marriage is legal where it was performed (e.g., in the US which is where you were in July when you last posted you would have to be in the US military for it to be legal as I understand it) then it generally will be accepted by Canada.

Of course, that does not mean the CIC officer will not evaluate your marriage to determine if it is legitimate. There are a number of threads on here about the types of questions that are asked at interview, and I would suggest you search for them to gain an understanding of what type of information CIC expects to obtain.

I just wanted to let others know that Ottawa appears to be ramping up speed. If you look at our timeline under my username you'll see that our file was received in Buffalo during the big slow down, where Jan., Feb., and Mar. applicants' files were boxed up and sent to Ottawa. My wife received PPR just a couple of weeks ago, her CoPR arrived on Monday of this week, and she landed yesterday. I believe there's reason to hope that Ottawa has gotten its feet underneath itself and may now begin to process more quickly. Overall, the move to Ottawa is probably a very good move, though many were caught in the kerfuffle, and particularly for straightforward cases.

All the best to those of you waiting, I hope my optimisim bears out!

Access to Information = you are asking about information pertaining to others
Privacy Act = you are asking about information pertaining to you

There's a $5 fee for Access To Information requests
There is no fee for a Privacy Act request

If you are the applicant and you want your information, you are making a privacy act request.
Include a second one for your sponsor so they don't have to redact her information.
