It was the same with my husband's. Valid to 2013/04/27, Medical Details valid to 04/28/2012. They told our MP that they had extended the medicals, so I don't get it. Oh well -- should be fine (I hope!).

Thanks for the response! The paranoia I've developed as a result of this process made me immediately question if I was reading the letter correctly. I felt stupid asking, but I'd feel way worse if I had to start the process over!

Good Morning everyone, well here is my update. :) My husband received a phone call on thursday from Detroit VO... telling him they are giving him medical extension, (as landing june 13 was not possible for him.) duh! so the person said it would take 2-3 weeks longer as it goes off to Ottawa for approval or whatever they do and once it shows on their system they will return his passport and documents. the extension is for 12 months .. WaHOo
so happy and relieved after all this waitng and not knowing what was going on.. Will keep you updated on the process & his eventual landing..

Fingers crossed for more good news to you all soon.

that's the first sensible thing they did is extend medicals, but they had to do with 7 years processing times.

I'm so worried.. I still haven't heard anything back. My application was sent since July 5, 2011 and it was said to be processed Jan 12. what took them so darn long? anyone with application back in May- July , 2011 and still waitting ? looks like everyone got the PR decisioni faster than I do.. And now the Buffalot office is closed, I really dont know what to do any more. So frustrating.

Hi,
Junie 2011 here. US F1 too. Not Canada visa exempt. Application sent early June last year. Interview scheduled and confirmed early this year for this month. Just got cancelled by Buffalo and now waiting, waiting and waiting......!!! Cry

Hi,

Does any one know if I can re- enter canada after landing without having PR card? I am asking this because I will be landing by saturday and return back to USA after 3 days ( Tuesday) to pack my house stuff and again go back to toronto with all my belongings.
I will be appling for my SIN and PR card as soon as I land.

Please advise

I'm very sorry to hear that. I'm sure it is costly for you both to cancel any travel plans that you already made. Was your spouse asked to pay the Right of Permanent Residence? My husband was asked to pay that back in Feb and we didn't hear back anything from them since then..

I was never asked for an interview and really wonder if all F1 visas required to go through Interview process?

I really hope good news will come to us soon. We've waitted long enough..

Yes you can. Just keep your COPR with you and your B4 forms:)

Hey all. Found out just now from CIC that my file was transferred to Ottawa. At least I know where it is now...

You mean I can enter without my PR card while I am still in process of receiving it..right?

I have 2 copies of COPR one is for CIC and another is my copy. So once I land CIC will take 1 copy of COPR and give me the stamped copy of my COPR and I can enter canada with that copy and my B4 form. right?

I will be appling for PR card once I land and I wont be having it untill I receive it (that is 1 month). I will be returning to USA without PR card and come back to canada with my stuff. As per your saying I can surely enter canada in this case?

Please advise me if I am wrong

You can come into Canada without the PR card after approval. Just explain your situation. I know CalgaryBound(think it was) went to Maui to celebrate as soon as they got PPR and on their way back they didn't have a PR card.. Some jerk of a airport immigration guy sent them over to the immigration and they were all "I don't know why they are sending you here, go on. Welcome to Canada." type of thing. Just have your paperwork and approval papers and say you're waiting on it to arrive in the mail. It SHOULD be as simple as that. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Hope that helps!
