That sucks!

I'm wondering if her case was first handled by an IO who told her MP about waiving her children's meds but did not make a note in the file, later another IO picked up her case and found her own meds renewal but not her children's and thus requested their meds.

May be her MP can force whoever IO they speak to to make sure all important points are marked in the file?

Hi guys, just popping back in after a long absence. Hope everybody is well and processing good news is coming in. I haven't heard many posts here but wanted to update the long time readers on a situation. You may remember my last posts back in January where I mentioned my girlfriends and their trouble with processing. Here is a bit of that old post.

You are right ddobro. It was two other friends who had the missing x-ray/"magically got TB" experience. One is landed finally; the other is in month 19 with no end in sight yet..... My "19 month friend" is pretty lackadaisical about the whole thing since she went to meet with her MP. I encouraged her back in November to get her notes and see what is really going on, but she hasn't done it. She did re-do her medical and submitted it and is hoping that it won't be lost AGAIN!

So, I had lunch today with my "19 month friend". She re-did her medical exam in mid December. Today she got an actual snail mail letter dated January 20 from the Consulate General telling her she needed to re-do her medical! Hopefully, this is just the official notification she never got back in the fall, but who knows...the saga continues in February, I guess.

Well, here it is now April 2012 and we had lunch together again today. The saga continues like this...CIC told her MP that while she (principal applicant) had to redo her medical, they were waiving the requirement for her children to do so and extending their meds for a year (no official cic communication on that to her; just a word from her MP). And as I mentioned back in January she did re do the meds, THEN got a letter from cic a month later asking her to re do them.

Her DMP followed up in mid March with cic and told my friend that the meds had been received and that she was approved (no official cic notification though).

So she finally gets some sign that the end is in sight, right? Yesterday, she received mail from cic. Thinking it was her COPR she opened it with relief and a bit of excitement. Want to guess what the dang letter said????

They are now requesting that her children redo their medicals! I feel so bad for what she is going through; and truly can not understand how her processing has gone SO wrong.

She has contacted her MP again. They have, fortunately, documented much of her case and will contact cic again on her behalf and follow up with her next week.

So I'm not sure.. what is MP? >.>;

I've been curious what all the abbreviations are. I know some from a thread, but not all are listed.

Did you send in sponsor's passport/citizenship card as supporting documents in your original pack or did you send them in at a later time?
Maybe they lost them? We heard some loss of document problems before. Anyway, I think it'd be better to just send them what they need if it's not too difficult to obtain the documents.

I did send copies of the the sponsor's passport in the original pack. Don't know why they need that again. Will be sending them the documents once i have the fingerprint check(which might be a few weeks). Really stressed about the timeline. I applied for fingerprinting(without channeler) and hoping to get them soon.

MP = Member of Parliament

My application timings are very similar to Timemachine. Only difference is that his file is being transferred to Seattle & mine will be process through Buffalo only. Do you guys know what is the application process time difference between Seattle and buffalo.

thanks

How do you know that you will be processed through Buffalo only?

Is there anyone who got ppr recently in last 2-3 weeks....are you guys are permanent or temporary resident of US?

I think they give priority to them. Anybody who is not US resident got a good news from buffalo?

Please share

It's not "officially" said, but I think they give priority to US citizens, then permanent residents. As for temporary residents (students/workers/visitors)? I think they get the same priority as wherever they are originally from.. not the same as citizens and PRs.

I agree, seems weird in my opinion but that's how it seems :-\

Is it fair what they are doing? I'm Indian citizen, temporary resident of Canada(student) and 10 year US visitor visa holder. I got my AOR after 2 months since file get to buffalo. Don't know how long will take to just get in process phase.....

Hi Isometry,

I am wondering if you got your COPR/passport back from SEATTLE yet? Mine was received on 28th March but nothing yet.

Nothing yet.

Mine was received by Seattle on March 30th.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can help answer this question. What happens if we/my wife doesn't get her PPR before medical expires (03/22/2011)? we filed in April 29th and send the the medical forms with our paperwork. We are coming on one year so any info would be help.

One of two things will happen:

- Medical will be automatically extended (good news is that that seems to happen more often for files in the Buffalo visa office than other VOs)
- They will request she does another medical before issuing the visa

To know if her medical clearance has been extended you'd have to get her CAIPS/GCSM notes or be lucky enough to have someone to tell you from CIC (unlikely).

Sorry to be the bearer of uncertainty :( Unfortunately, it's one more test of patience in this process. Hopefully you'll get good news soon!

If your wife has been In Canada the whole time after she has gotten her medicals done then they will extend them.You have to show proof of it like a visitor visa or your bank statements which I used.If she hasnt been In Canada then there is a chance they could request new medicals.
