I see your file is in Seattle. Apparently they're a lot nicer and more communicative out there than at Buffalo! Congrats! :)

Thanks everyone! I was so surprised that I got a personal call. He was basically calling to see if I wanted the whole package mailed back to me with all of our evidence or just the photos. He was in the process of typing out the letter requesting passport and told us to check our email for the request. He was quite personable on the phone. I am guessing we do not need an interview seeing he only mentioned the passport. I finally got a hold of my husband. He is ecstatic !! They did try to conatct him but he didn't answer the phone as it showed up "Unknown" hahaha

Awesome. Lol, of course you won't be needing an interview. I wish someone had called me to ask if I wanted some of my evidence back! Let me know when you get the PPR email and/or RPRF email.

As for us, they didn't request passport or anything when they requested the RPRF. I've sent it in Jan 20, I called CPC-M and they said they have input it in the system Feb 3, but still no word from LA.... We're getting really anxious and kinda worried that it's taking so long for them to approve and send a PPR.

Omg omg omg omg !! So excited! Canadian immigration officer just personally called me and asked if I would like my binder of info etc sent back or just then pictures. He said he is and I quote .... " finishing the last touches on my paperwork so u can be with your sweetie" !!!! Asked for us to pay the last fee and send passport!!!! I'm so excited and my husband won't answer the phone for me to tell him! So I thought I would share my excitement with all of u supportive people! He also said that my immigration package was one that was talked about amongst staff because it was so in depth and normally they do not need that much evidence! I explained I was a school teacher and that I am very thorough!

Congratulations! Indeed you've had exceptionally nice experience with this process!

CONGRATS!!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Now I have a question for everyone.

After much talking with what would be my CL in May we decided on something but I wanted to find out what people thought.

We decided that we want to get married this summer (August particularly), and wanted to know if we apply for an extension on my visitor record (it expires on April 30th), stating we're planning a wedding in August and are going to be sending off for PR afterward, as well as send receipts of already paying the $75 sponsor and $475 application fee to PROVE we're in the process of preparing for that... what are the odds of approval of this extension? Any other evidence to assure them? Perhaps letters from his parents stating knowledge of our marriage and that I need to be here to help plan it?

We just decided we don't want to go the common law route (we qualify for that May 14th), we want to be married, but we don't' want to do a simple civil ceremony and want to have a small intimate wedding for about 20 of his family and our friends, and will celebrate with my family later on after all the immigration madness is over.

Thoughts? I just can't wait to marry him!!! :D

Hate to quote myself.. but I know a lot has been posted today and curious if anyone has any idea on this? I'm so excited for you Moonlight!! I hope I get that kind of thing :D

I think AmericaninQuebec was in Canada on a visitor permit before applying and possibly before getting married, so maybe she could give you some thoughts.

Kiribati, the visitor extension was a breeze for us. I am sure if you apply one month before his visitors status is up you will have no problems as long as it is his first extension. On the form they ask you to explain why you need the extension. Here I would explain you are planning a wedding etc and include the dates n times of any celebrations you plan on having. I also would submit a copy of your last hrs tax summary if you are supporting your partner. This way they know there are funds there. This was what we did. My husband has not been working since may 2010 when he arrived in June he made his money last and I submitted my tax return as evidence with the extension. They basically want to know he has money he can access if need be / emergency etc.

Thanks Moonlight! :) Though it is the other way around. Me staying, he's the Canadian but same principal ;) Hehe thank you. I work for a company in the US but since I'm a children's book illustrator, I do the work from home so I have all my equipment here, so that's how I show I still have money to support myself :)

Ive never heard of them requesting them both at the same time so I wouldnt worry about that.On sending the payment in its a toss up.I paid all the fees up front and Im still waiting unpatiently.
