We got our marriage Liscence Nov. 2010, Married on Jan 1 2011. I did, and I am pretty sure I asked for Detroit, not New York! Apparently it doesn't make an influence in my case.

Didn't you fill out the sheet with the application that asked which Visa Office you would prefer to have an interview if needed?

I think the sheet said Detroit, LA, Seattle, or New York in Appendix A Document Checklist

You mean not everyone has an UCI? I just presume everyone does as I got mine from the AOR email, which was received 1 day before I got my Visitor Record.

You know what I'm wondering? There are a lot of us who have been transferred who have visitor records - in other words, we already have UCIs, we're "in the system" - I can't help but wonder if there's something in their system that speeds it up for those who already have a UCI. Maybe there are some who have UCIs and don't get transferred, or who don't have UCIs and do get transferred, but it does seem the majority of transfers have a UCI. Many of those who aren't in Canada still got a UCI somewhere along the line (probably a previous VR) and it gets attached to their file.

Plausible, anyone?

I'm not sure about this theory. I've had my UCI from long time ago, so clearly this doesn't work in my case.

Doubtful. I had a visitor record starting in July 2010, app was filed in Feb. 2011, and it took until Dec. 2011 for me to get PPR. My file was never transferred outside of Buffalo either. I would also doubt it, because just the other week Ddobro2 was contemplating whether being in Canada actually slowed down the processing time for people, since it seemed there were so many of us who filed in the period between fall 2010 and spring 2011 that were already in Canada yet still awaiting PPR while we watched May/June/July applicants getting PPR before us. Of course maybe things are changing down in Buffalo, but if they are it's a very new change on their part.

So having browsed the forum for a while and finding it very helpful, I thought I would come out of the shadows and join in the fun! It's very addictive! Timeline as follows -

Application filed 28th Sept 2011 to CPC-M.
Sponsor Approved 8th Dec 2011.

Had to call to find this out. Still haven't received a sponsor approval email despite calling 3 times. Apparently, it is in a queue to be re-sent since 13th Dec! Even though I'm British my app was sent to Buffalo on 8th Dec because I was admitted to Canada on a 1 year work permit before filing.

I already have a UCI from previous work permits so could login to eCas quite early. It has always just said application received and medical results received. Last Friday my address disappeared for the second time. First time nothing happened. Still waiting for an AOR from Buffalo! Not too hopeful on getting that based on the fact we haven't got our sponsor approval email!

I'm pretty patient I'd just like to know something is happening. I appreciate though there are peeps out there who have been waiting a whole heap longer and I hope your finished soon! I am thankful everyday that I have been able to be here with my partner on a work permit as I know some are not so fortunate.

So one more Buffalo-Septembrian for the pot with a non-US twist.

Oh yeh... is there anyone else who has not received/never received and AOR from Buffalo?

From reading this I see there are several permutations for how flies are processed! ???

I am U.S Permanent Resident and I have been living in the US for the past few years. However, last month I moved to Saudi Arabia for a temporary work assignment.

In the 'General Application form' or Form IMM0008, it asks me for my 'current country of residence'. I don't want to put Saudi Arabia there in fear of being of moved into Abu Dhabi visa office instead of Buffalo. Any ideas what I should do?
