I've seen dozens of posters that have had their timelines delayed 2-6 MONTHS because they split the payments up. If you can do it, pay it all up front, even if you have to save up for a bit to afford it.

Definitely keep your copy safe forever. If you ever want to apply for citizenship (as US citizens, we can obtain Canadian citizenship and keep our US citizenship, making us dual citizens), you'll need it.
