Actually kitchloo, there is a phone number listed for the immigration section but I don't know of anyone on this thread who has called, so I can't say whether the phone actually gets picked up and how helpful the response would be.

Back in October my husband got a letter requesting the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, which we paid online right away, as well as faxing the receipt to Mississauga and Buffalo. The letter also said that an interview would not be required.

Why haven't we heard anything since then? This is so nerve wracking! Should we call them or keep waiting endlessly?

Really? I've never seen a phone number listed anywhere (and I searched high and low for one in the past). Where is it listed? Or do you mean the general one to Immigration Canada?

Yes, finally!! Congratulations janyte :)

Not the general one to the call centre nor the consulate general but if you go in the contact page on the consulate website, it has a phone number for the immigration division.

Can you share your timeline with us? Thanks!

Sure! We were married December 2010. My husband sent his application on May 5, 2011. On June 30 we were having problems seeing the application status online and called them (it must have been Mississauga, can't remember). They said there were problems with the photos and that they had sent us a letter on June 7. Because of the postal strike, we didn't get that letter (along with our entire application) until several weeks later in July! Then we sent everything back within a couple of days. On July 11 I was approved as his sponsor. They started processing the application on October 11. On October 17 we got a letter requesting the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (something we had somehow overlooked - not sure how we did that since we had read that application SO MANY times!). We paid online that very day, and faxed the receipt to Buffalo and Mississauga the next day. Haven't heard anything since then.

I'm happy you've reached that. :) I'm curious.. when the PPR happens, what exactly does that mean? That he's a PR now? I'm new to every bit of this and will be sending off my application in May of this year.
