Hi Amine01, this is a sad thing. I hope that they finish your backgroung check quickly.
Can I ask if your are man or a woman, and which region of the world or country are you from?
It seems that some countries require longer check than others.
If you are a woman, and it is taking you 10 months and more for background check, then the CIC must be doing something wrong.

i just hope my interview is waived before hand so i dont have to go to New York, NY

hope mine tooo ! cos if they ask for an interviw well i have to go for a visa to go to the united state !

it could take long time to have it tyhen to travel for the interview

amine01 -

Unfortunately the wait time for Buffalo isn't 10 months maximum. They don't publish the maximum wait time. Likely because there it's one.

Ten months is the time by which 80% of applications are finished processing. It looks like your application has unfortunately fallen into the 20% that aren't completed within 10 months.

Good luck!!! I hope the rest of the processing goes quickly for you and you hear a positive outcome soon.

Hi amine01,

10 months is just tooooo looooong. Did you try calling your MP for help?

Amine01, if you do not have legal status in the United States, why was your application sent to Buffalo?

If you have been legally admitted into the US or Canada for the period of one year or more, you can apply through Buffalo.

I think it's gone beyond 'normal' processing time, and in that case the MP can get involved in the case. That's what I recommend.

Anime01 - It sounds like there's something in your background that CIC might think is questionable (nothing against you, sometimes it is as in depth as what history your parents may have). Does anyone know if ordering CAIPS notes here would be helpful for him? I agree with SimpleMan, contact your MP if you haven't already. Find out what the holdup is and what's going on with your case. Good luck! I hope you hear something soon!

i m really touched, thank youuu sooooo much for your advise and help :)

please tell me how i contact that MP and who is it exactly :-\

Your MP is your Member of Parliament. You can put in the Sponsor's Candian postal code via this website:

http://www2.parl.gc.ca/parlinfo/compilations/houseofcommons/memberbypostalcode.aspx?menu=hoc

That will tell you who your MP is and you can contact them. Someone else can be more helpful on what exactly you say, as I have not gone through the process myself :)
