That reminds me. I once saw a YouTube video a few weeks ago that was apparently a leaked recording of a US border crossing gone wrong. Meanwhile, all I can say about it in spite of all the silly comments from the peanut gallery there is that indeed, politeness and directness will get you far. Something also tells me if you're bringing a recording device to record an encounter with the border agents that you might be looking for some unwanted attention.
